I hope the Flames didn't give up on the year after missing the playoffs.
I've had this worry about this game for a while now. Tough for a team to get up first game after elimination, but I suppose having Darryl Sutter behind their bench could help.

The issue for the Sharks in trying to get the most ping pong balls this year is that while bad, they have a group that hasn't been injured to the level of the Blue Jackets, nor are they as bad in the disillusioned, poor-mentality way of the Hawks and Ducks.

I would argue in a way that this is for the best, because when the culture of a team gets poisoned deep in the well like it has for those two franchises, it can be harder/slower to change the prevailing mindset. The problem is that this year is one of those special ones where nothing else really matters as much as just getting that #1 pick, so to hell with culture and self-respect. But the Sharks just haven't sunk to those depths yet.

Calgary was really good against Nashville but got Saros'd. If they play that way again it will be a demolition for Kahk/Reimer.

Maybe they let off but also this SJ team is so young that I don't think it takes that much to outplay them.

The penultimate chance to tank.....get'er done!

Sutter's hard for the players to live with if they don't give 100%. So we got that going for us, which is nice!

Only have to live with him for one more day after this, so the motivation might not be as great as we hope.

Hopefully there's enough of them that want to be there next year...
I wonder what the vibe around the team is with Sutter right now. Big lineup changes this year but missing the playoffs has to sting. Has he worn out his welcome? Will they make a change or is he so engrained that the more likely change is to the roster?

Early GDT curse going for the loss?

Kinda excited to see Wolf. Saw a lot of him when he was in the WHL, was a little annoyed the Sharks didn't take a shot on him even before finding out he was a NorCal native who liked SJ growing up.

I mean really, did they need Ibragimov? Or could they have swung one of the patented DW trades for eleventy billion 7th rounders? Wolf was like the 5th last person picked in the draft. the price would've been negligible.
