Well, Neal Pionk is embarrassed that we didn't make the playoffs with the team we have. :huh: Geez, maybe ask the fans how we feel? :rolleyes: I'm sure many of us can tell the Jets our opinions on that subject...:sarcasm: Anyway, with only three games left, Winnipeg faces the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night. The Jets have a record of 36-32-11 and are coming off an inspired 4-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche. Sure, the Avs were missing players but so were the Jets, a number of them have been MIA all season. It's funny how they show up now when it doesn't matter...:skeptic: The Flyers, on the other hand, have been out of the playoff picture for quite some time, with a record of 25-44-11, they sit twenty-ninth in the league, just ten points ahead of the lowly Montreal Canadiens. Philadelphia is coming off of a 3-1 loss at the hands of the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday, and are 3-7-0 in their last ten games. The last time these two clubs met was back on February 1st, 2022, when the Flyers beat the Jets 3-1 back in Philly. Hopefully with nothing to lose, Winnipeg has another inspired game... We can only hope!

Over the years, the one thing I think we have all learned is that Philadelphia is just one tough town. They seem to take pride in it...

It all starts with the Broad Street Bullies, the Flyers teams from the 1970s. They were probably one of the toughest teams in the league, and to play them meant certain pain...

BroadStreetBullies.jpg

In 1976, a new kind of toughness came out of Philadelphia in the form of Rocky Balboa, who didn't know the meaning of quit (unlike our current Jets)...

In honour of the city's toughness, they have a ToughMudder Philly competition, where participants race through a nine mile, thirty obstacle, course.

By participating, you get a free t-shirt and headband, and when you cross the finish line, you get a free beer! Where do I sign up...:cheers: Philadelphia is also home to another tough Oscar winner...

and it's not like he hasn't done it before...

I wonder where he learned this rough stuff from?

And that gets us to one of the toughest, scariest mascots in the entire NHL....Gritty! I mean if you were a kid, wouldn't you be frightened by the offspring of Animal from the Muppets and Youpii?

But in Philadelphia, even the kids are tough and love Gritty...

i

As scary as he is, how can you not love this guy?

Let's show Philly how tough we are in Winnipeg by driving down any street right now at full speed...

Well I'm glad that Cole is pretty close and will be able to hit the summer running with regard to training. He's unsure of if he will play WJHC or not, leaving that to his agent and management. It was indeed a shoulder injury and the other one was an old injury reaggrevated.

Thanks @macmaroon

Its been said before but I will say it again.

- Your brand of humour hits the mark.
- You have done great service to this little corner of HF boards and are unwavering supporter of the Jets, thats cool. You are not the archtypical **what have you done for me lately** guy.
- You don't wound easily. :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
- You should try Nhl66 - amazing free site for the cableless folks roaming the streets and finding shelter in the larger potholes of Winnipeg.

++++++++++++++

To business: The Flyers are a surprising lot this year.

At times they couldn't find their inner coelacanth if one showed up for dinner.

Any gate, lets smash the flyers, why not? Our defence will need to activate to Battle the Benny Hill.

Besides, with a mascot like Gritty (looking like the lovechild of Bob Ross and Jimmy Hoffa) how tough can these guys be?

How kind to a Flyer hath this season been?
Not! And they look to the pleasure of the fleeting golf ball
Aye, and what freezings have we felt, what dark days seen,
Cast off thy mould Jets, its time to stand tall.
Helly - form thy wall and rumble to thy goal as the start bell chimes,
Slay the flaccid Flyer host, looms large ye with rich increase,
Bearing the wanton burden of our hopes in prime,
Soft, lets look now for 46 from KFC with quick release:
And this Schmidtless D, abundant - seem'd to me
With hope of Slamberg yielding unfather'd fruit;
For Canada Life’s chorus and its pleasures wait on thee,
And, thou away, the Flyered fans are mute;
Or, if they sing, 'tis with so dull a cheer
That leaves look pale, dreading the Jets win near.

Had every intention of skipping this to avoid these f***s getting me more angry, but I caved.

Will be in my orange, but the Jets better not lay an egg here. This is a big loss for Flyers.

And please keep a close eye on Gromp, that old POS will play 15 mins in a lost season.

And you will see how the Yandyman record is a farce and the only thing they did wrong with him was guarantee him his stupid record.
