Not to be a doomer, but if we lose in regulation tomorrow then there's a very real chance we come out of the weekend without any points. Meanwhile Columbus and the Isles play 3 games each between now and Monday. So we could only be up 2 points come Monday.

do they keep Roy just for resting players at the end of the season ? because at that point they should send him down

I believe there is a limit on non-emergency call-ups following the TDL and the team is probably worried about sending him down and then guys getting hurt. That, or they plan on resting some injured vets after we clinch and we wouldn't qualify for emergency call-ups. I agree Roy should be playing games right now, but Laval doesn't need the help at the moment.

Thanks, I read about that callup rule also. I don't want Roy in the lineup, I believe he belongs to the AHL that's why haha really not a fan of his game

We're 8 points up on the teams chasing us, and all but the Rangers have 5 games left. After our two Ontario games on the weekend we play Chicago at home, so if we win only that game the Rangers are eliminated and the other 3 would have to win out to tie us. We would beat the Jackets on the tie-breaker, so as long as we take that Chicago game (and get no points in our other 3) it would take a 5 game win streak for either the Wings or Isles to pass us. In their last 10 while fighting for their playoff lives the Wings have 4 wins and the Isles have 3. Red wings remaining games are Panthers, Bolts, Stars, Devils, Leafs. Islanders is a little easier in Rangers, Flyers, Caps, Devils, Jackets.

I think we're fine.

Reactions: Gravity
I want a tough rugged defenseman in the lineup who doesn't deserve to sit any more than Savard. Sens are dirty scum. He likes to hit Stutzle. I am sure he has learned his whatever lesson and just like MM will give Habs completely mistake free hockey.
One can make a compelling argument for Xhekaj while still being appreciative of MSL’s work this season.

That said, MSL doesn’t seem to privilege the physical element to a game however that can change very quickly when he coaches his team into the playoffs.

Hopefully, Xhekaj gets into the remaining regular season games after the Habs will have clinched — presuming they do and that there will be regular season games left.

Unbold Predictions:

Timmy Stu dives multiple times

Greig cheap shots someone with his fake tough guy act

Matheson controller disconnects leading to a 1st period goal

Armia hits nothing, not an opponent with a body check, not a teammate with a tape to tape pass or the net with a shot on goal - especially if its empty

Suzuki wins it in OT

personally I'd love habs to play the Leafs.
I'm not worried about winning a cup or a long run this year,
it's house money and the underdog status suits habs very well.
It would be great to put that kind of pressure on the leafs, and
frankly, watching them potentially choke vs us again makes me happier
than losing a series we have no business being in to begin with
 :dm:

According to this Magic Number

Both the Rangers and BlueJackets are out if they lose 1 of their remaining games and both the RedWings and Islanders are out if they lose 2 of their remaining games.

Detroit Schedule = @florida - @TB - home vs Dallas - @NJ - @ TO

Islanders Schedule = Home vs Rangers - @Phi - @NJ - home to Wsh and @Columbus

Rangers Schedule = @NYI - @car - @Flo - home vs TB

Columbus schedule = Home to Buff - Home to Was - @Was - @Phi - Home vs NYI

There are a few head to head games in there that will eliminate teams for Montreal

Xhekaj is better than Savard and since Struble have been paired with him, he doesn't look better than Xhekaj so our playoff picture isn't affected at all
I 100% agree, Savard is the common denominator....He brings his D partner down, he's way too slow!
Montreal would be better off with a Strubble - Xhekaj pairing !

7 minutes of Xhekaj is way better than 7 minutes of Savard.

At the very least Xhekaj can calm the other team down a bit if they start taking runs at Montreal's smaller talented players and can keep up with the play while Savard needs a walker and looks lost on the ice right now!
