I'm too lazy to dig to find his player thread, so I'll post this here.......

I was thinking about this last night.....is John Beecher the worst forward in the NHL? His last 71 NHL games.

1 goal, 5 assists, 37 shots, -19, averaging 11 minutes per game.

I don't see how they can justify qualifying this player. If he's not the worst forward in the NHL, he has to be the worst forward with the puck on his stick. Just dreadful.

Had me worried after the first period but the tank is strong.

I suppose Geekie hitting 30 will help him in his contract negotiations. No idea if the Bruins will concur,

He shockingly has 3 goals this year, but only 1 since October 16th. The one came on Jan 18th against Ottawa and it was a floater from the blue line that snuck in.

I know this because I had the same thoughts this morning and went and looked.

No idea what he provides anymore. I think he kills penalties? Other than that he skates into the end boards with the puck pretty well.

He's not an NHL caliber player IMO. Pure definition of "tools but no toolbox" player. Bruins need to stop drafting and acquiring players like this. He's not the only player they've employed this season who fits this description. Or that they've recently drafted. It's infuriating to watch this story play out over and over and over.

spending first rounders on Beecher and T. Fred when they basically admitted at their drafts they had 3rd line ceilings still hurts my soul

and i was a fan of the Beecher pick... oooooph

I don't have much to add.

Regarding Beecher, I recall a stat saying he's 52.5% on face-offs. In today's possession-obsessed NHL, that will keep him employed.

Team USA at the Olympics will look quite different from 4 Nations. Tage Thompson is a lock, and it's looking like Hutson and Caufield aren't far behind.

I used to dig Buffalo using Motley Crue's Kickstart My Heart as a goal song; but over the B's last two visits, I've heard it 13 times.

Being a bit of a bandwagon-jumper, but Go, Houston Cougars!

He has one year left, there’s no bridge. Either you sign him long term, or do the one year thing either together or at arb. Then he’s UFA.
A one year is not a bridge? It bridges two contracts, the elc and the ufa deal (roughly speaking). Didn’t know it had to be two to meet the definition.
