You can do whatever you want but insulting all the fans who are doing exactly what they should be doing for the long term health of the franchise is on you. You can root for a couple of meaningless wins that will drop the team four spots down the draft order in a year where there are significant lines in terms of prospects because that makes you feel like a better fan. But acting like the 98% of the fan base who is grounded enough to root for them to lose for a couple weeks are bad fans or embarrassing or whatever is getting tiresome.
Should be doing?

It will matter not in the long run, and I would rather a win and let things happen as they should.

You have no right to judge others for cheering for their team.

Ladyfan, she’s the one hammering everyone for doing what they’re doing, calling it embarrassing and pathetic. I don’t care if you want them to win, but don’t call me pathetic for, yes, rooting for what’s best for the long term health of the organization.

Not a bit. They've been trying and working hard out there most every game and every period. They are just terrible right now. It happens.
It happened on purpose as the Bs are not icing an NHL team at this time.

It makes me sad.

I feel bad for the players as it isn't their fault. I really feel for Pasta.

They did a sell off, but they are icing about the best the team can under the circumstances, no? It is sad how far they seem to fallen in a short time, but I am backing Cam and Donnie on this re-tool/build because the team needed changes. It doesn't make it easy for easy watching, no, but recognizing it needed to happen softens it a lot.

I get all of that but as a STH am disappointed that the team is not competitive. I truly feel bad for the players as I know they do not want to lose.

Trading Brad was the last straw for me.

Some of us that go to the games are not rich and paying for this isn't fair to the STH.

I am counting on them fixing this before the start of next season.

You are backing them because you have no choice. They are not getting fired.

If they rush this fix, I could make them a middle team forever. Take couple of years off and then fix it with some light in the horizon.

No, I could come on here and rant about them every day and wish for them to get fired like some do. I back them because they did what I believed they wouldn't do and that is try to rebuild the team for long-term success as it was heading the wrong way. I will stop backing them if they screw up the rebuild, though!

That's fair, and my financial and other investments (time, energy) are nowhere near STH level. You have every right to not like this situation (and you certainly don't need me to affirm that in any way) and I don't like it either, if I had a choice. I do think they will be competitive next season, but I am also open to the possibility it might take a bit longer. If so, so be it. Your mileage as a STH might vary in how much you want to keep investing if it looks like the team is down for a while. This season is a lost-cause, so I am down for the rebuild at this point, but I really hope it's quick turnaround. Even as a couch fan, I enjoy the team much more when they aren't shitty.

They did that to save jobs is a good bet.Anyhow, they are here to stay ,so I to am hoping they get it right. Not sure how though with a crappy free agent pool outside going through a couple drafts and waiting it out till right situations present itself.Spending the cap just to spend it and locking into more bad contracts would probably not be wise.

My financials and investments are nowhere near STH level either. I am irresponsible to spend this much on the Bs (especially since retirement). Maybe if I wasn't so financially challenged and so old it wouldn't suck as much.

I'd rather see Patrick Brown between Geekie and Pasta. Lindholm play doesn't warrant it. If anything I'd have him as a healthy scratch.

easy for you to say
I know that. You as a regular suffer. Deep down I would assume that you know you can turn things around in one year. They will probably sign a player or tw but the well will still be dry. Two years and now they can reset a bit and ice a young hungry team. That’s My opinion though.

I don't give a shit. I don't root for failure and certainly not manufactured failure. It is embarrassing and hypocritical.

You're in denial. Nobody likes to see their favorite team lose but if it means potentially securing a better player that might help the team win games in the future vs a meaningless win in a season where the bottom has dropped out, then the smart play is to lose these last few games. We've been fortunate enough for the Bruins to not be in the lottery in recent memory but since they are here, they might as well go all in.

Correct.

Right out of the1996-97 Harry playbook.

Bad coach in place. Trade vets for young players and pick. Go 5-14 after the that. Secure top pick (Joe Thornton). Get real coach (Pat Burns) the next season and make the playoffs.
