The Rangers magic number is 2. We need some combination of us earning points and them not earning points that equals 2 or more. So we win, we clinch. They lose in regulation, we clinch. We win in OT/SO and they lose in OT/SO, we clinch.

If we lose in OT/SO and they win, they can still technically pass us via the tie-breaker.

OR

They get one point against the Senators and the Islanders lose to the Blues in any fashion.

OR

The Islanders lose to the Blues in regulation.
