That has to be the worst 3rd line in the NHL ever and it has 2 Canadians on it
That 3rd line is pretty disheartening

Any worse than the 4th line that hasn't been effective since the 3rd week of the season.

Kastelic - 44 games, 2 goals, 8 assists, -9

Koepke - 44 games, 4 goals, 2 assists, -3

Beecher - 51 games, 1 goal, 3 assists, -16

And I'm pretty sure some of Kastelic's production came during a brief stint on a line with Frederic and Coyle.

At least the 3rd line has Poitras. Still don't understand how Brazeau sits for Wahlstrom so that's an upgrade. Frederic hasn't been giving them anything either so even an invisible Riley Tufte is basically a wash.

Problem being there's better wingers down in Povidence for Poitras to play with

Hey what happened to our 4th line? I know they weren't going to play at early season pace.

But coach can hardly play them anymore. -2 last game, always hemmed in. It's BAD.
Don't think Kastelic is 100%, Koepkes early season magic has worn off and Beecher just sucks. Throw Brazeau into the mix when hes there and hes just too slow to play the hard forechecking style that line wants to.

There isn't ?

I'd have to say at least guys with a higher ceiling in Merk, Lysell and Farinacci. You know what your getting with Tufte and Braz and and its nothing note worthy thats for sure.

I can see playing Braz because they need him to show something in order to trade him, but I certainly don't see him being their best option.

Not NHL players. Beecher's hockey sense in particular is brutal.

And Kastelic is your #12 forward on a contending team. If you employ Mark Kastelic, your goal as a GM is to find 11 forwards better than him.

Lysell you can make an argument for. He looked the part in his one game up here.

Sorry I don't see Merkulov ever being an NHL caliber player. He got a cannon for a shot but just doesn't skate well enough, was always chasing the play, never touched the puck.

Farinacci I can't comment I've never seen him play.

loved Kastelic play before he got concussed. He hasn't been the same player since coming back, but prior he was exactly what Id want on my 4th line. An energy guy with toughness who can skate and fore-check.

Problem being we'll probably never find out unfortunately.

100% there is.

I know you aren't big on Lysell or Merkulov but you can't seriously tell me these guys, even if they never pan out like some hope they will aren't better than f***ing Tufte?

Like i'm not even a Lysell dickrider by any stretch but he looked better in one game than Tufte has in his entire pro career. It shouldn't even be a question.

Lysell I'd rather see but he's also a right-winger and Tufte is on the left side. I think both Tufte and Merkulov are destined for pro hockey careers overseas. Just don't see it with Merkulov.

Maybe they learned their lesson with Freddy and don't want Brazeau to get hurt?

Tufte over any prospect is baffling.
These non NHLers will add nothing more so why not give them a chance?

The Wahlstrom, Lettieri, Tufte types. Waive them all.
Im pretty down on Braz too, he came in and looked good a year ago, but I think the league is more aware of him now, and at this point he is what is and thats a borderline NHLer, imo. Would rather cut bait and give a body in providence a look.
