Something to keep an eye on: Tampa's set plays off faceoffs.
They burned us in the last regular season game off a quick play off the faceoff, and they've had 3 or 4 good opportunities right off the draw in this series so far, including 2 last night.
The Leafs don't look like they've clued in on them properly yet.

IIRC, TOR been the same situation before, won the pivot game 5 against B's( yikes, I hate that), yet they lost the series.

Seriously though, I hope Keefe gets Matthews/Marner out there every chance he gets. Ignore matchups if he must. They need shifts to get in a rhythm and with all the penalties I get that it's been hard. But those guys are who you win a series with.
Show complete faith in them (rather than overtly trying to protect them from Cirelli and Friends) and I believe they'll rise to the challenge and reward the coach. Whether they do or don't at least we'll really know everything we need to about the "core" and if they have what it takes.
Still sticking to "Leafs in 6", but man that "16-0 after a loss" streak for the Bolts and on home ice is going to be one monster of a beast to slay.

The thing is everytime Tampa is on the brink they come out flying the next game. You know this. Dont start your 3rd line etc. Be more prepared.
No Leafs on Saturday night? I'm prepared to sacrifice fir the benefit of the greater number.

Ask Corey Perry. He didn't write the book on diving but he learned from it.
Keefe needs to split up Matthews & Marner for this game only to force Cooper into choosing the Hedman vs Matthews or Hedman vs JT/Marner.

Playing a one game winner takes all is not ideal. Control the pace and make tomorrows game a personal challenge. It's obviously best to have home court in a deciding game, but the goal should be to end it tomorrow with an all out effort.
All of the Bulletin Board material provided by Cooper should only make it that much easier and satisfying.

It's all a show. He's making the Leafs players, the fans, and the media focus on him, rather than on his team. Wise move from a successful veteran coach.

It's not as if the fans aren't going to notice all the diving, flopping and dishonourable soccer-like antics of his team just because he tries to rattle the Leafs cage with some gas lighting.

The game starts around 7:36-40, I hope they know that.
Tampa has gone 6/28 on the PP, I thought it was worse, but it could be a lot better.
Leafs are 4/24, 16.6%, even with the 2SHG, play a smart game but don’t let them push you around. Be careful because the refs are calling things tight and everyone is trying to get a call.
Tampa gets excellent offense from their D, Hedman has 2-5-7 and is their best player and has been for years. McDonagh has 1-2-3 and Sergachev is 0-2-2, but both have been exposed, Serge especially but the other at the very wrong time last game.
Stamkos is dangerous as hell, if somebody can get him the puck when he gets open. Kucherov is always scary, and Point is definitely playing hurt.
The Leafs have been abusing Tampa in transition with their speed, and getting a lot of bodies in front of Vasilevskiy, excellent.
Everybody seems to be going, too.

I know they have it in them because I’ve seen it. Bring it out tomorrow. Be meaner than them and just as dirty.
