Jensen / Gregor / Cousins have all been good given their salary. Amadio's 2.6 will be 4th line money soon enough, although a bit more scoring would be nice.

That's actually not a bad point. I wouldn't feel confident Ullmark can stay healthy for a couple of weeks at this point, much less the rest of the season.
It sucks though because we could really use Forsberg's cap space.
It is bad reasoning if you recognize that even if Ullmark gets hurt, Forsberg is not going to save the season, or even keep your head above water.
In that scenario, going with Merilainen + Sogaard or any other AHL goaltender you find off the scrap heap would be the same.

That loss against the Habs is the one which really soured me on this team's playoff chances. Injuries or not, they couldn't even show up against a weaker(in theory) divisional rival coming off a two week break. There's something rotten with this core, and yesterday's practice where they needed Green to yell at them to pick up the tempo sort of confirmed it.

Every 2.6 you spend is 2.6 your scouts can find a better player for. Staios says he saw more there with amadio. That’s assessment seems to be wildly off

Noah Gregor is beyond useless, man. Doesn't produce offense, doesn't defend or play PK, not a faceoff specialist, not a feared hitter, doesn't fight, absolutely brutal underlying metrics. Stat models have him as one of the worst forwards to play in the NHL this season.
He is a clear downgrade from Parker Kelly.
After the last numerous years, Sens fans have been conditioned to think that 4th liners are just filler who don't do anything and that's the way it is.
Then you turn on a Vegas game and see Keegan Kolesar and Nic Roy on the 4th line, or see Dallas play and say "oh look Mavrik Bourque is on their 4th line"...

He is & he's big & he's really tough, we have nobody that can deal with this, Kleven is a rookie & shouldn't have to deal with it, neither should Brady. We need a Carkner or Neil, McCaron from Nashville could be available & could be a cheap option & he can play & he would fill a role that we don't have at the moment.
I know it’s bleak now and hard to have faith at this point while marred in a losing skid. The effort was there by most tonight but missing our best offensive players we aren’t going to score enough and especially against top teams like WPG, FLA or even a TB for that matter. Against the Habs Saturday I was fuming as several players seemingly still had their heads in the sand.
Absolutely need to find a way to beat SJ Saturday and help get things back on track. Following the trade deadline there’s a big stretch coming where we play NYR, Bos and Det at home. Those are the games we need to find a way to win. Go into those with a healthier forward crew and hopefully a locked in Ullmark by then and I think we make some headway and a push in the right direction in March.

It'd be nice to move Josh Norris to Utah for a package including Jack McBain. Move Pinto up into a scoring role and make McBain our 3rd line C.
Amadio is not our problem, at all. He's a good player. Our problem is our top 6 haven't scored in months and our D don't generate much either.
