Giroux and Perron are cooked.
Harsh on Giroux to lump those two together. Obviously Giroux is a shadow of what he once was, but Perron has 1 even-strength point all year. This is his 20th game!

Genuinely think Perron may be bought out this summer. Doesn't look like he has anything to contribute any longer.

Maybe it was part of the plan to appeal to the rabid Quebec City Sens fanbase. Look a French speaker!

Not gonna lie I was somewhat happy about the signing, and it does seem like that injury he suffered will probably end his career after this contract as he can't even shoot anymore. Staios would probably have been able to trade him at the deadline if he didn't have that extra year.

Hopefully Staios is able to swallow the mistake and Andlauer is willing to pay for it.

It's a $1.33M cap hit on a buyout for 2 years, which saves you ~$2.7M next year. I think it's a no-brainer, personally.

The year after it'll be negligible with what the cap will increase to.

Obviously didn't mean to imply they were both equally shit, but Giroux's top-6 days appear to be over for good so I had to mention him too.

Sn is the worst sport panel by far, but if we were actually a good team they would have no choice at least to dicuss about the team or recognise them. I really son't care if they don't since they cringe asf. But people just got used to sens being a bad team point. This year we have a chance to change that but it's getting hard and luck is not with us as usual . Need something going for us at some point and if we really suck and sell can we get a 1st overall prospect for once. Probably one of the unluckiest team in the Nhl by far

Hard to gauge his season with all that's been going on for him, idk if he can bounce back but I'm pulling for him to turn it around.

How does Staios terminate that contract?? St. Louis was able to terminate Saad's contract...how do the Sens get out from Perron's?
Presumably Perron would have to have done something contrary to team standards. I suppose Ottawa media could turn on him and he'd want out, nothing to lose here really except maybe some overpayment down the road from other free agents.

That was after the last season in Detroit.

I got the idea of bringing in another veteran, and even overpaying to get him to come to Ottawa... but the second year is killer.

There were certainly signs of a big slowdown prior to his personal stuff and injury this season.

Ya, idk, trying to void the contract of a guy whos newborn had severe issues, right at the start of training camp is the kind of thing I suspect other player, on and off your team, might take note of. Best to just treat the guy respectfully

Agreed. The opposite seems like a Melnyk move.

Just imagine if Hamonic could hit the net...what a Dman he would be
It's one thing to miss a one-timer, which he does constantly. Earlier in the game he took the time to tee up a shot, position the puck with a month of Sundays to shoot, and he missed the effing net!
