I’m not really sure what you’re arguing. Could it have been an instigator? Okay. But that wouldn’t have prevented Kleven from getting hurt. The fight would have still happened, we just would have gotten a PP after.

Linesmen don’t jump in and stop a fight if there “might” be an instigator. The penalty is just assessed after the fight is finished.

Kleven should’ve just skated away. Lowry wouldn’t have jumped him. Maybe he would’ve slashed him or something and then we would’ve gotten a PP and he could’ve stayed on the ice.

But he didn’t. He dropped his gloves, threw punches, and got clocked.
