Gaborik was placed on IR after suffering a “lower body injury” in the game against the Rangers on Friday.

Jonathan Quick practiced with the team in New Jersey.
Peter Budaj remains with the team with the extra roster spot cleared by Gaborik.

Devils roster is like a patchwork quilt held together by duct tape. Crazy to think where they'd be without Schneider. Guy's a beast.

Can't emphasize how much we need a streak now. A good one. And such a shame to lose Gabby when our third line just started beasting (Gabby and Vinny together would have been LOL in 2006 or so).

Devils are a stout defensive team so I hope we don't have 'one of those games' where we resign ourselves to volume shooting without stepping on their throats, and without Quick, I doubt we survive a ton of shots against...really need everyone to empty the tank on this, the fourth game in 5.5 days that starts earlier than most tournament games on pacific time

... I want to be optimistic, but I'm starting to get those 2015 vibes where no Pacific teams can play less than .800 hockey and despite dictating the majority of every game we freefall. Please be wrong!

This is the Devils, not Calgary... Kings stomp these guys....

Still got more respect for the Devils then NYR... they put up more of a fight in the finals... then they were cheering for the Kings so they didn't have to listen to NYR... can you guys imagine how bad it would be if Snow Pile won that series for them...

I've got no ill will for the Devils, I just want their points!

At no point did they every badmouth/diss any of our players during or after the 2012 finals, they know what success is and they know when they were beaten clean, no excuses. That team wasn't altogether too different from ours either, just a bunch of scrappy vets led by Parise's motor and Kovy with half a working back.

I'm impressed with what they've done this season when they were supposed to tank out, Zajac looks alive again and their youngsters are starting to come through.

Where's Cammalleri? Did he retire then or is he hurt?

Schneider is a great goalie, in my top-5 league wide. Still baffled that the 'Nucks gave him away for peanuts. If he starts and he's on his game, he'll make it tough. I haven't seen any Devils games since early January though.

Hopefully Pearson comes out hungry for Gabbo's spot in the lineup. He's capable... fingers crossed.
