He's played the position for like what 3 years and wasn't expected to be in the NHL this year, jesus some of you guys need perspective and context on player development. First year pro leaps to nhl after limited time playing defense and people bitch. Laughable. EVERY team in this league would love having a player with miller's skillset

Jones is younger and far better defensively AND on offense.

Miller MIGHT become good, but right now he is terrible.

Reaves is a UFA next summer. Not this coming one, but I’d be fine with paying him. He can play a bit and he’d be a favorite in NY.

Miller is a college guy. College guys play 30-40 games in an entire season. Two games a week. Sometimes one. Sometimes no games in the week. Almost always on weekends. It's tough stepping directly from the college ranks to the pros. Guys often hit a wall, physically and mentally. Miller has hit it. He started off great, hit some bumps, picked it up, then fell off precipitously. It's not for lack of ability. Cut him some slack, he wasn't even supposed to be on the team, let alone playing 20 minutes per night.

Yep. It may be another 2-3 seasons before we know what kind of player he is going to be.

He should have had some breaks this year, but Bitteto and Johnson have just been so abysmal.

It takes some players a while, he just kind of got put in over his head. Dan Blackburn situation.

I rooted for us to lose in the play in last year for this very reason. I mean it’s not a 12.5% chance of winning the lottery this time, but if you’re not in first, you’re in last, and we have a chance to further build the foundatiom of this team and possibly get a better player by being a spot or two higher.
