Panarin is the best 5v5 player in the league
Last year he has the most even strength points of any player since Jagr in the 90’s lol
Yeah that's fair, I could see Panarin over Point, and he probably was the best last year.

This year, McDavid is just playing a different sport. Best season since Wayne.

I think there is a disconnect or at least a disagreement among fans about where this team is at this point.

This is a .500 team with serious flaws. Some nights those flaws are hidden. Other nights those flaws are wearing their birthday suit for all the world to see.
Yeah this should be able to be super liked.

I once worked with a teacher who showed the movie version of literally everything they were supposed to read. His classroom was referred to as the Cineplex. Those kids didn't have a problem with him either. They also didn't learn shit.

Strome even said in an interview in early April that he knows the coach wants them to shoot more, but that "you can't micromanage your top guys" or something to that effect. They can like him. They can be buddies with him. But if he keeps telling them to do something and they just don't do it (with no repercussions in terms of play time, line makeup, benchings, etc), then it's at least a possibility that they don't respect him as an authority figure in the room.

I’m not sure which point you’re trying to make. The second example would negate the first. It would be very hard for them to co-exist.

They don’t respect him, but they’re content to go along with him?

Remember when management said after the bubble disaster they wanted a tougher team to play against... hmmmm looks like they failed at that too. Hard to be a tough team when big name guys go invisible in the most important games of the season and a lot of the other guys can’t even legally buy beer...

That takes time. They drafted some guys that fit that mold. Barron and Schneider may be on this team next year.

Because, we have stomped the Flyers, Devils, and Flyers all season long. Take out those games and we are terrible. Only chance to win hard games for past 2 years is if Zibanejad or Panarin have superstar performances.

It's speculation, so who care's but yeah it's not that hard to imagine.

If I'm going to ignore and walk all over somebody, it's usually gonna be somebody I don't respect...

This board thinks something is rotten. I have yet to hear anything inside the organization or outside that either agrees with that perspective or affirms it.

When something is rotten, you hear about it long before the public ever does.
Actions speak louder than words.

This effort cannot be excused. It's been happening all season

So you think no younger centers will surpass Zibanejad in those years either?
Im not sure what point you’re trying to make here. I’ll repeat myself: Out of the players MH listed, I’d take Mika over a few them now and in the future.

That doesn’t mean other centers won’t surpass him. But again we’re not talking about other centers. We’re talking specifically about the list MH posted. Players like Backstrom, Bergeron, Couts, Malkin and Kopitar.

If you like Quinn that’s fine but you can’t deny at this point the team manages to poop the bed every time a big game rolls around

So the VETS on this team does NOT GET BLAMED for that. Always just the coach. The players who are vets should know better.

Zibs is not even the best center in New York, that goes to Matt Barzal, and its not even debatable!

I guess my point is that the future has nothing to do with it so stop mentioning it.

But I'm just pissed at this game, sorry.

Its not that I love the guy(I don't). He certainly is not a tactician in any form.

I just think this game is a bad example to his blunders.
