No idea what this team is right now but they're playing hard and together.

If/when Lindholm and McAvoy return are they one more offensive threat away from being a contender? Pastrnak can't do it alone come playoff time, but with another legit threat on another line would change things dramatically.

No it wouldn't. Without a massive injection of speed up front, they are still going nowhere. Still need to overhaul the bottom 9 forwards. They were very fortunate to get 2 points out of this one. Geekie-Zacha-Pasta will cool off somewhat they can't keep this pace going.

So do we call that Rope-a-Dope hockey? Two periods of dull boring lull them to sleep hockey, about 10 minutes of actual offensive attack snatching the lead and then a shut down shell to close it out. Is that the plan?
Not sure it'll work every night but it sure was effective today against a very good and skilled team.

Geekie wants to be paid and Zadorov was actually good today. Jones should go back to Providence as soon as Koepke or Kastelic is back and Lindholm continues to underwhelm.

I wonder if there's any way they can get Lindholm to waive his NTC and they could move him in a deal for Miller with Vancouver. As a Swede he should get along fine with Petterson and Vancouver's a nice place to live. They love Swedes there. Just saying.

Who's slow in the bottom 9 - Coyle, Brazeau?

Who said slow? There isn't a single player in the bottom six today that I would say is fast. You can have some slow skaters, you can have some average skaters, but you also need some fast players. Beecher is the quickest afoot of who played today but he's terrible.

This is still the slowest group of forwards overall in the NHL, just like last year.

Did you see how they couldn't gain the zone and maintain possession today rush after rush? Or how they couldn't get to a dump in to save their lives? The need more speed to push back the opposing D-men and to beat them to their dump ins. Until they fix that, and start spending more time in the offensive zone (and then less time in their own zone), top teams will eat them alive.

Really don't think speed is the problem.

Hello from Walter Brown Arena(BU leading Holy Cross 2-0). Very frustrating early on, but I always exercise patience. As Brick said, they were never out of it.

More like hang on for dear life hockey.

Doesn't Freddy want to get paid?

Perhaps if they can get their fourth line healthy and to be successful on the forecheck like earlier this season, and Pasta's line remains hot, and Swayman stays hot, they will just have to figure out the middle six. But that's a lot of if's. We'll see.

Without looking at the Edge stats, I'd say Kopeke, Beecher and even Kastelic are above average.

It's Frederic, Brazeau, and Wahlstrom that slow up the bottom 6. Then Geekie is the turtle that slows the top 6 down.

Bruins definately are too slow to play the up tempo grinding game they want to employ.
