Agreed. Pasta has put this team on his back offensively and even making some nice plays in their own zone. He's playing with a lot of pride right now.
Couldn't agree more about him playing with pride. He's on a mission. Maybe that article a few weeks ago really light a fire under him. Whatever it was he's turned it on and his chemistry with geekie is awesome right now

That Buffalo game worries me. Screams trap. I hope they do not take it lightly.
I just finished watching the Sabres/Oilers game, and Buffalo lost 3-2 but gave them a damn good game, and almost tied it up late in the 3rd

There's no team in the NHL you can expect an easy win by just showing up ..especially the Bruins who have trouble scoring

..the Bruins better come into Buffalo ready and willing to work hard, or risk getting zero points

I saw the end of the game and you’re right. Buffalo almost pulled it out. It used to look at your schedule in 10 game increments. Now it’s game by game as anyone seems to be able to beat anyone any night. Wild.

Yes, I have seen them play a few times this year and if you give them open ice they have a plethora of scoring skill from all over. They are however still quite soft and if you clog things up and shut it down they can be frustrated and their net front D falls apart. Their PP can be good though so can't play stupid.

Without looking at the Edge stats, I'd say Kopeke, Beecher and even Kastelic are above average.

It's Frederic, Brazeau, and Wahlstrom that slow up the bottom 6. Then Geekie is the turtle that slows the top 6 down.

Bruins definately are too slow to play the up tempo grinding game they want to employ.
Fredric is not slow at all.

Great game,
W/O Pasta, Bruins would be in the basement. 88 is the currently carrying the Bruins on his shoulders.

Remember some saying Geekie was a dumb move on the first line....for now, it is really working.

Like what Zadorov said. He came in Boston for the PO!!!

Great 2 pts.

I will add Poitras as average skater. His skating style and strength are worrisome. Disagree with Geekie. I wouldn’t call him a turtle. I like Jones/Vinni speed. I hope the bruins call up Lysell. They could use his speed.

Fredric is not slow at all.

His problem is that he doesn't move his feet consistently. For a guy with average top speed by NHL Edge measurements, he simply doesnt hustle enough. When things are going well for him, he's getting to lose pucks and making plays because he brought his skating game with him that particular night. When it's not, he's coasting, getting outraced to the puck, and struggles with transition.

Again per the Edge stats, yes Poitras is slow. Which is no surprise. But so is Geekie. Glacial. One of the slowest forwards in the league. Doesn't seem to be holding him back, but it is what it is. Lattieri is slow too. Even Jones is actually in the bottom half for top speed. Would never call him a laggard, but appearances can be deceiving.

The only Bruins forwards who are in the top 50% of the league for pace are Pasta, Zacha, Beecher, Kastelic and Koepke. Probably Lysell too if he actually saw some decent time in Boston. But that's it.

He is above average and gets pucks from the defensive zone to the offensive zone. Pretty vanilla but he isn’t “average top speed”

Maybe I’m wrong. I don’t have data

I’d love to see the data you’re basing this off of.

What about Beecher?
