Be honest. You held perfectly still that whole shootout.
Kings eeked out their 2nd victory in a row. Blew the lead, but still got two points. Canucks now have a loss. Kings 2-3, 4pts.
Pearson has 4 goals in 3 games played.
Brown got a goal!
McNabb had not one, but TWO over the glass penalties...and a goal.
And Pearson with the SO winner.
Budaj closed the door on the SO.
DISCUSS!

Next game Tuesday at home against the Blue Jackets.

Best game Brown has played in 3+ years. He attacked the net more than once, he was physical, he was creative, he earned his paycheck. It' time to cut Nic Shore loose, this seems to be another case of a bad hockey player, who took a bad penalty, everybody can see he's not an effective NHL center except one person-Darry Sutter. Nic Shore had more ice time than Dowd, 11:05 to 9:49 and there really is no reason. Too much ice time for Dwight King, guy cannot create offense in todays NHL. Forbort and Gilbert need to be the 3rd pairing. It seems like when the D is solid and set the offense comes to life. When it's a bunch of rotating spare parts the offense falls apart.

King, Shore, and Forbort need to go. Use a couple of them to trade for a decent/temporary goalie replacement. Send Greene down. Call up Kempe, Mersch, Gravel, and Macdermid. We need more youth/speed. Dowd needs more minutes. Play Macdermid/Clifford when we need toughness.

Kempe-Kopitar-Toffoli
Pearson-Carter-Setoguchi
Mersch-Dowd-Brown
Andreoff-Lewis-Purcell
Clifford/Nolan

McNabb-Doughty
Muzzin-Martinez
Gravel-Gilbert
MacDermid

Brown had a great game. Anyone would think he doesn't like the Canucks, either that or when he see's the ginger twins it acts like a red rag to a bull.

I love "the worst contract in the league" slapping his most vocal detractors outside our market in the face with a 3-point game.

Dowd looks decent, he seems to have a bit of jam. Its almost like he hasn't had all the creativity coached out of him yet.:D

That's the thing--I haven't seen him do anything yet where I'm like "ho ho, Sutter is gonna kill him for that" like I did in his game last year!

Plus he's hitting to punish/crush and I love it; dunno if he can keep THAT up all year but it's nice to see someone finishing hard like it's the 2012 stretch run.

Hopefully he can keep up the energy levels and cement one of the bottom 6 center roles.

Forbort is also a damn site prettier to watch than scuds (at the end of his career)

Forbert is much less tentative this year than last year. Sutter is controlling his minutes very tightly but I expect that to change as the season progresses and he adjusts to the speed of the NHL.

I am not happy that DS continues to run his top players into the ground with the 3 on 3. Did he not learn anything from last year?

I'm really digging the Andreoff-Dowd-Brown line.

Related: Andy Andreoff does a good job of protecting the puck, which is probably why he's one of the better bottom-sixers at entering the o-zone. He's come a long ways, that's for sure.

Man Brown picked a great time for his resurgence to ruin the tank! Oh well I got half priced Papa Johns for it! Thanks Brown!!! Great game....

What the hell is wrong with Sutter? Why doesn't he have Shore out there when the goalies pulled for the other team!!!!

Brown getting a shorty against Van. "Van's right back in this as soon as the refs stop giving the Kings the advantage on the PK." Sure brings back memories.

Really enjoying this year. I expect every game to be a dumpster fire and when it isn't I'm stoked!!! Just like when I started watching before all the pressure from the cup wins.

How are you guys letting McNabb fly under the radar with his stupid OTG penalty that allowed vanc to get a point?

It's the most p***** off I've been at a player so far this season. There is really no reason to flip the puck up that high - especially in the last 2 minutes of regulation. Based on where the vanc player was in relation to McNabb and the boards, if he slaps the puck to mid-board height the puck likely would have got out to center ice or further. And even if it was kept in at the blue line, so what?!

Gift pt to vanc sucks.

I remember Muzzin launching 2 over the glass in the same game last season. **** happens sometimes.

Put the pitchforks away until we lose a game. I'm sure that'll happen soon enough.

Hopefully Forbort continues to progress, it's looking like some of the poor play in the first couple games were just nerves.

As far as OT, the Kings went 12-3 in OT last year, which is probably what he remembers. Yea, it's extra wear and tear, but they aren't exactly tough minutes. A lot of slow skating and pretty much zero hitting.
