Round 2 for Halak against Florida and he looked good the first time. Panthers have talent but this is a game we should win. Sue me but I don’t mind the new lines at all. At least the right 18 skaters are playing

I'll be at this one. First time back at MSG since probably 2015 game 5 vs Pitt

Let's get a W!

JR: My gawd, King! It's, it's Carl Hagelin coming out of the tunnel!
Lawler: Oh boy. He doesn't look happy at all!
Whatever happened to Hagelin?

Says on the internet that he plays for the Capitals but, uhhh, apparently not?

Had offseason hip surgery, on LTIR. Also, he had a serious eye injury last season. Probably headed toward retirement. He's on his final contact year.

The.3rd gotta be the 2nd
The talent is night and day better than the 2nd line. Must be a preferred defensive matchup line going against their 2nd line. Okay, but wait.

Shouldn't smart coaching be able to match up who they want to match up against?
Put the kids on the 2nd line and let the Panthers coach worry about who he "has to" match up with. This is like playing possum.

So maybe, Thats the guy we should grab when we eventually part ways with Sammy?
Would LOVE to have Hags back, on the 4th like and PK of course.

Never shouldve traded Hagelin. Much bigger piece to our bottom 6 than many of us (myself included) thought at the time. I feel like losing Lindgren would be a similar hit to this squad. Hypothetically replaceable, but definitely not the smartest move they could make if they needed cap space.

Just because a player is "replaceable" in the sense that their skillset exists (whereas Zibanejad or Panarin's skillset is generally limited to no availability), it doesn't mean that finding the right piece is easy.

I think Lindgren would be similar. There are better LD but for the price and the specific elements he brings, it would be a challenge.

Feel very much the same about Lindgren. Machines should be more than the sun of their parts. Lindgren is one of those big value added cogs that doesn’t really do much as a standalone piece. He needs to be here through his next contract. Wish we had his brother too.

Frankly, we should even have to worry about it. Stupid f***ing cap.

I like the idea of preventing teams from just buying rosters in the market, but why do players you developed count the same?

We gave Lindgren a chance nobody else did and he took it. He's never been anything but a Ranger. What we pay him shouldn't count towards some f***ing cap.

Lindgren was a great pick up, i honestly feel he makes Fox better because Fox can play his game and not worry about his D partner.

Boston got so lucky with getting Lindholm after already having McAvoy.

Can you imagine a Lindholm - Fox pairing? Damn!

I agree....however, I am concerned about the wear and tear due to his game.

Totally agree. The Rangers will look to extend Lindgren after next year imo, especially if the cap jumps. Obviously an excellent defender but he is also solid offensively because the puck rarely dies on his stick in the offensive zone. He's also a homegrown player with the warrior mentality not a ton of our guys have (yet).

I know everyone is scared of the Girardi/Staal contracts, but those were signed when they were 29 & 28 respectively, and Staal had already missed major time due to the head and eye injuries. Lindgren will be 25 when he is up for an extension. Rangers should give him 5/6 years easily as long as the cap hit is manageable.
