Over the summer, I sent out a crack team of investigators to find out about some of our fellow HFJets posters. What they came back with was quite interesting, and throughout the season, we will look at some of the information they found out.
Today, we will look at the life of one of our more avian posters: @flyingkiwi
Lil' Kiwi started out as a very big egg somewhere in the Tongariro Forest on the North Island of New Zealand...
After three months, Lil' Kiwi hatched to proud parents LoKiwi and S'Kiwi...
Right from the start, Lil' Kiwi was always asking questions: Why is the sky blue? Why is the grass green? Is Russell Crowe really a New Zealander? Then one day, Lil' Kiwi saw some friends being able to fly and asked, “why can't I fly”...
Lil' Kiwi's parents said that Kiwis have very tiny wings and that prevented them from flying. Lil' Kiwi did not like that answer and vowed to fly. Lil' Kiwi studied about aerodynamics and lift...
Then set out to fly...
By then, Lil' Kiwi was given a new nickname...FlyingKiwi! Lil' Kiwi's friends marvelled at FlyingKiwi's passion for trying to fly, albeit unsuccessful. Attempt...
after attempt, FlyingKiwi continued to try...
Until finally FlyingKiwi gave up and bought an airline...
Now FlyingKiwi is happy and can fly anywhere...
And the rest, they say, is history...
Tonight, the Winnipeg Jets take on the Arizona Coyotes at intimate Mullett Arena in Tempe Arizona at a more reasonable 6:00pm CST start time. The 25-9-2 Jets recently beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-1 to extend their winning streak to five games and are 8-0-2 in their last ten. The Coyotes are fairing quite well and are 19-16-2 on the season but have lost two straight after a 5-1 loss at the hands of the New York Islanders and are currently 6-4 in their last ten games. The season series favours Winnipeg, a 5-3 win in Arizona and a 5-2 win in Manitoba's capital back in November, so the Coyotes will be looking to trying to even the score. Can the "Mentors" continue to be the Jets lucky charms, or will Arizona's warmer climate be the team's undoing? Who will have more fans in attendance for this game, Jets 1.0 or Jets 2.0 (or both)? Will @Stumbledore and @Inanna finally get back to talking hockey? These questions and more were found wandering the Salt Flats just outside of Phoenix, dazed and confused...
