If Bruins win in regulation tonight they are 11-4-1 in 16 games under Sacco a 118 point pace

The Capitals would be 23-9-2 in 34 games a 116 point pace

To many Bruins fans live at intersection of Fear and Complain Street
Only fear tonight is Wilson. Does his brain malfunction again?

People being lazy and throwing out the "Sway Haters" accusation need to come to grips with the reality that Swayman is LITERALLY the worst goalie in the NHL this year, and we just signed him to a huge cap hit for almost a decade...

All I can think is that they're desperate to get Coyle going. At face value the Brazeau Wahlstrom Frederic line looks dynamic as a waiting room.
I'd like to see a young guy with Frederic and Wahlstrom. Would Merkulov / Lysell be a fit? I know the D might be an adventure for a bit, but it seems like as good an opportunity as any to promote a guy this year and see what they have. I do like adding Coyle to our top 6. I think he could be a game changer if he plays like a beast along the wall and in the corners. This team really needs that out of him. He definitely has the skill and hands to get the points to but I think the intensity he can play with will be the most important. I hope he brings it relentlessly.

That's just one stat. And even then using that particular metric, the goals saved above expected per 60 minutes played would be the fairer criteria to use, and in that regard there are numerous goalies with worse records than Sway, including Silovs, Martin, Primeau, Tarasov, Husso, Ingram, Levi, Ersson, Grubauer, Georgiev and even Fleury.

I'm not trying to sugarcoat it - Sway has definitely not played well enough so far this season and his performance by any measure puts him firmly in the below average category amongst all goalies. He can be better and he needs to be better. But equally I don't think he's been completely awful and certainly not worst in show. He's not hitting the mark but he's not miles away either.

End of the day he's our no. 1 goalie and he's not going anywhere, so we can only hope he turns things around and can put the contract wrangling and slow start firmly behind him. The Bruins need it.

My issue is that with current performance, he SHOULDN'T be our #1. Korpisalo (who isn't great either) has been markedly better. We shouldn't be overplaying Swayman simply because we paid him way too much.

Yeah there's an argument for that. The counter I guess is, assuming the Bruins make playoffs, Sway's going to be the guy in net. Barring injury, he just is. So they need to get him up to speed. Then the question is, what's the best way of doing that? Is it continuing to give him more starts, or would it better to foster some more competition and give the goalies time based largely on their current performance alone? Essentially, to make Sway 'fight' for his ice time. Which I think suits his character. Guy loves to have a chip on his shoulder, so give him one.

I wouldn't overdo it. But I'd be happy to see the Bruins go closer to 50/50 starts until either Jez starts to really up his game, or Korpi's own form falls away. Don't let complacency creep in.

I have lost all respect for Sway but agree that his play has been low to middling, especially recently.
