I disagree he is a below average hockey player. He plays well defensively and does lots of little things that contributes to winning hockey. He may not be a #1 center but he is not below average.

Hayton is a 3C. Put in a position to succeed but doesn't have the talent to be 1C. Hayton would be very valuable at 3C, but our C depth is crap at the moment.

Ok, I need someone to tell me what Hayton does besides defense that is average or above?

I know it's not Speed, Playmaking Ability, Scoring - all below average

BA gave Hayton a 2yr. show me contract. That's why drafting is so important. Hayton and Soderstrom were two wasted picks.

At this point, the team is playing really very good by NHL standards - which is the highest standard in the world of hockey - so I am going to enjoy the heck out of it and not critique less than perfect play by any of the team members ( though I will silently grind my molars when Cole takes another penalty).
