He had 33 in total last year, so this season he is 9 hits behind his average, I really don't care because he was and is a player you do not sign for hitting.

Here’s an insane stat for you all, and he’s actually been playing better recently so I won’t hate on him too much but Andrew copp has only 3 hits in 30 games.

Bigger guys who don't play big are really irritating.

Two more strange stats: Wings have outshot Toronto in both games so far, and outscored them 3-1 at 5v5. Maybe they thought if they could figure out a way to compete with the Leafs, everything else would fall into place.

The wings played a good game, Petry had his best game in wings uniform, Husso didn't let in any soft semi soft goals. It was a very good win.
Veleno played 6ish min. Last game and this game Veleno actually looked good.

Nobody said you signed him for hitting, but that is an egregiously soft player. Even Kane has double the hits he has in less games.

I wouldn't call Copp soft. He doesn't shy away from contact he just doesn't throw a lot of hits.

And the "hits" stat is highly suspect anyway. Ras is second only to Seider in hits this season so I guess he's one of the Wings most physical players?

Sadly, it's true. He does make contact even if he falls in the process.

If you rank the players by hits, I think it's a fairly accurate rank of physicality. That doesn't mean they can win a fight though, just willingness to make contact during play:

Copp doesn't play a soft game at all so the total lack of hits is interesting... and does not suggest great things about his recovery after surgery.
