Not happy about this. Lily has been great, and we need offense. Also, Engvall on the fourth line? Prefer to see him play with Micky and Kampf. They wre unreal in the regular season together.

Surprised Clifford didn't get back in. Hope Fat Maroon and Bobble Head Perry don't hurt anyone.

Did anyone noticed the sign someone had at the last game: Pat Maroon looks like a 15 yr old Dutch girl

I think the Leafs are just going to let themselves get into penalty trouble if they try crossing the line and then they will just let everyone else handle any kind of scrum (especially guys like Muzzin and Lyubushkin). Keefe wants to cut out the unnecessary penalties on our side, and most of those stemmed from Simmonds/Clifford. If Maroon/Perry want to take some themselves, then by all means.

Also, with Tampa getting last change, the chances that our 4th line goes out there against theirs is slim. So the main value of a Clifford/Simmonds would be putting them out against their top competition and trying to get into them physically... But that is just a disaster waiting to happen. Either they will get circles skated around them or they will likely take a stupid penalty again, and we can't have that happen again. If Tampa chooses to do that themselves, then we will just have to skate circles around them or goad them into taking stupid penalties themselves.

We all knew Lilly was gonna be out this game with the PK being bad and Lilly getting roughed up and not having a strong game

Thanks man. I'm traveling actually and need to wake up at 2:30 AM to catch a flight. Here on the east coast the game will start around 9PM. I'm actually debating watching the game and just not going to bed, lol.

ahh dang! i sure as hell wouldnt be able to sleep with a playoff game going on aha

It's actually amazing how many people are scared of injuries, Tampa gooning it up, and they know how to construct a lineup better than Keefe.

Let them "goon it up", our retaliations so far have not worked at all. Take the lumps, take the PPs, WIN THE GAME. Nothing else matters.

Im not a fan of these lines at all.

Kerfoot, Matthews and Marner looked good enough where we should try Bunting with Tavares. Put Mikheyev or Nylander on the right, with the other with Kampf and Engvall.

Blackwell, Spezza and I guess Kase on the fourth

I would have preferred Kase on the 4th line, but none of those guys can really play LW. Engvall can play LW.

I imagine the idea with the 2nd line is have Tavares do all of the dirty work again and open up space for a couple of shooters in Kase and Nylander. I don't expect those guys to be in front of the net. 3rd line is obviously a shutdown line who can go up against their top 6. That means Cooper has to effectively find a way to put out one of his top 6 lines against our 4th line if he wants to have a matchup advantage, and even our 4th line (with Blackwell and Engvall on it) can smother things defensively. I wouldn't be surprised if we double shift some of the guys on the 3rd line too, especially for defensive zone draws.

4th line should be able to handle any antics from Maroon/Perry (without taking penalties) but more importantly will provide some more value at both ends of the ice. Spezza provides more offense and better faceoff ability. Engvall provides more defense. I also think Keefe is putting his money on the refs after the first two games too, and hoping that they continue calling the antics that have got Perry/Simmonds/Clifford/Maroon in trouble. If they do, their 4th line loses much of their effectiveness and ours can take it to them.

i expect Keefe won't hesitate to bump kerf up to the tavares line and engvall up to the kampf line if things aren't working.

If we lose this series because Keefe plays Holl over Liljegren please just fire him. Complete and utter bullshit. Should have been Lyubushkin coming out if Keefe is that desperate to turn to Holl (lmao).
Completely agree. Holl in over Liljegren is a disaster waiting to happen. Keefe needs be fired if they lose this series. Bring in Bruce Boudreau, a guy that has wanted to coach this team. Apparently Vancouver isn’t offering him a contract.

I hope we don't allow the 1st goal of the game. I don't know about you guys but soon after that Hedman goal I saw some shoulders drop on the ice and on the bench.

I still think mental toughness is not there; of course I hope I am wrong; but to be seen.

Just don't allow the first goal of the game.

So far the team that has scored 1st have gone on to win the game

I'm in the club that is a little iffy on these lines as well. Lily has been extremely consistent the second half of this year, so taking him out after one game is a tough look. I get the PK benefit, but thought the message coming out of game 2 was to be more disciplined.

Also thought that Nylander on L3 was to be more dangerous and matchup proof with last change on the road. I guess Willy and Tavares need to find a spark in this series, just odd timing.

Hope the changes work out though.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Mikheyev - Tavares - Nylander
Kerfoot - Kampf - Kase
Engvall - Blackwell - Spezza

Rielly - Lyubushkin
Muzzin - Brodie
Giordano - Liljegren

I wish we saw that tonight.

Come out hard and win. I hope Spezza bring the same spark he's brought every post season. Just f***ing win.

I’d like to see Mikheyev, Kamph and Engvall together, but I’m guessing Keefe and the training staff are force feeding Pierre testosterone and a pre-game meal of Fight Club to help out the 4th line in case Tampa goes rogue.

Wtf are these lines. Seems like such an over reaction on Keefe's part.

Already not confident for tonight's game (Leafs PTSD), but now even less.

Regardless, I feel if we show up like Game 1, then the personnel make very little difference. But that level of intensity is key.

Keefe wtf are doing. We've outplayed Tampa handily at 5v5, have outscored them 5-2. Don't fix what ain't broken dude...

So what the PK had a bit of a rough time in game 2, they were absolute money in game 1. Don't f***ing take out a premium D in Lilly and plug in that dipshit Holl. Our D has looked its absolute best without him.

I don't think changing our PP would be a good idea after having the best PP in the league all season.

Leafs don't have a PP shot; playing the same team again and again they adjust. Leafs need more options to make that adjustment by tampa not work. Regular season and post season executions are not the same when it comes to game plans, adjutments or on ice plays
