I think Leafs have to play with desperation, more like game 1. Every game is a must win, they are trying to prove that they can win in the playoffs.

I would go for a speed line of..
Bkackwell. Kerfoot Nylander.
Then checking line of..
Kampf mikheyev kase.
Fourth line of..
Tavares Spezza engval.
Use Tavares on faceoffs when needed eg pp.
Is that worse than what we’ve seen so far?

Well we better kill every penalty tonight then
PK sure needed Holl in game 1 they looked so bad right :sarcasm:

Because holl is one of the best in league and the teams best PK D man, and they got exposed badly last game short handed. Pretty simple
You take those penalties against Tampa consistently and it doesn't matter what PKer you find. You're getting burned. We dont need Holl him and Liljegren are no longer at the same level since deadline. Liljegren surpass him. Using game 2 to make this decision is foolish

No dude, Chris Lee absolutely despises the Leafs and calls everything against them.

It's gonna be another one of those nights :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead

Chris Lee should be banned from calling Leaf games. Expecting another 6-7 PP for Tampa, maybe 1-2 for us, lots of "missed calls". Not liking this one bit.

I am seriously considering may be I do something else instead of watching the game. Not even joking. Chris Lee hates the Leafs

Sometimes you have to beat the refs too to win a series, look at the 2019 Finals for example. If you're the Leafs if you want to move on, you have to win the special teams battles even if the refs are biased against you.

I predict the winner of game #3 wins the series. Either team that loses faces a must win 3 of the next 4 games.

If the Leafs are going to split the games in Tampa then lets make it the 1st one tonight, as that takes some of the pressure off.

The loser of tonight's game is in a real hole and faces the possibility of going down 1-3 in the series.

Andrei Vasilevskiy has posted a shutout in 5 straight series in the last deciding game to advance or hoist the Cup so we really don't want to get to game #7 and test that again.

I agree this is really a must win game for the Leafs for them to win the series. IMO

If not playing Clifford and Simmonds is supposed to result in fewer PK opportunities, then I really don't get bringing in Holl to be the PK specialist. Lily did get run hard in game 2 wonder if he's nursing an injury.

Precisely!

Expect fewer penatlies because Simmonds/Clifford not playing but also need a PK d-men?

We only gave up one goal on PK where we looked lost. The other two were self inflicted. Hedman scoring with what like a couple seconds left to end the period and then Kampf passing the puck to brodie without a stick instead of clearing the puck.

This is galaxy brain stuff from Keefe. I also don;t like that he is keeping blackwell in the line up. THe dude doesnt bring much on the 4th line and plays on 2nd PP but has no impact.

Keefe just annoyed the hell out of me

Going with a more skilled lineup makes sense especially with the penalties some of the grinders took...but i don't like Holl going back in....It's a huge mistake imo as those little turnovers and not being able to find loose pucks(when around our net and in his feet) are going to cost us...but i guess we'll see.

I really don't like Engvall on the 4th line. All the best versions of our 3rd line have featured him.

Keefe is thinking of exactly that tho - he wants the 4th line to be playable even when Coop matches his top line against them....and Engvall pretty much turns any line into a decent territorial line all by himself.

Just looking at the stats for the series. We lead in basically everything but special teams. If Leafs start clicking there then they will dominate. 5 on 5 has been solid.

Taking Liljegren out is highly suspect and shows nerves from Keefe. That guy could have 2 goals in this series give or take a half inch here or there.
I'm actually shocked that he thought that was the right move. It reminds me of last year when he kept flipping Dermott and Sandin and neither could get into a groove and shit the bed on costly goals.

I feel good about the game tonight.
I expect a close game and maybe overtime. I'd be lying if i said I don't believe Maroon/Perry will run Campbell if things are going our way. Either we sacrifice a superior talent to deal with them or rely on the refs to hold them accountable. Neither possibility increases my confidence level.

Let's go boys, get the series lead back.
