On the whole, I like the lineup changes based on the officiating thus far in the series.

I wouldn't have pulled Liljegren, but we'll see if Holl can prove his naysayers wrong.

I'm not all that surprised with Lilj coming out. Felt like high, highs and low, lows for him last game. Some jitters with the puck and no pressure at times too.

Not sure it'll matter much in the end, but nice to see Spezza back in the lineup

This lineup move is a direct result of officiating. They want to add more skill and reduce the grit and sandpaper. I think they should have gone back to the original lineup in game 1 but you just never know what this.

If it works out, he's a genius and if it doesn't, people will say he's outcoached and reactionary.
Funny thing is game 3 refs are old time let da boys fight it out refs .. Chris Lee lets everything go .. expect to see our D get run over tonight .. I expect they will target Holl and Rielly .. no penalties likely and an injury in da cards for one of them

Both Backwell and Kase should sit they were terrible last game.

In my opinion Keefe is making a mistake with no Clifford or Simmonds.

Sure they made mistakes but they are professionals and could have toned down the stupidity.

Wouldn't be a bit surprised to see them goon it up.

I hope I'm wrong and Keefe is right.
Who were Clifford and Simmonds protecting exactly? The 4th lines just punched each other and they take turns taking dumb penalties.

with last change a line with Clifford and Simmonds getting out there against Point and Kucherov would have been horrible for us.

Should have been Boosh out instead of Liljegren.

Disappointed at Lily coming out, if a change was to be made it should have been Lybushkin, otherwise I agree with the changes

Don't think you can take out Lyub when Clifford & Simmonds are also sitting.. makes the team a lot softer. Going into Tampa that's probably not a good idea

I agree with everyone whose playing tonight but I'd have Kase Tavares and Spezza as the 4th line until they start showing up in the series. They haven't deserved much more than 12 minutes a game (Kase and Tavares)..but would leave it to them to earn more ice.

Bunting Matthews Marner 20min
Mikheyev Kerfoot Nylander 16min
Engvall Kampf Blackwell 12min
Kase Tavares Spezza 12min

I'm willing to give Keefe the benefit of the doubt here:

If I'm not mistaking, Holl has usually had a strong game after sitting games.

On the 4th line decision, I'm thinking that's due to not having the last line change as well as reducing our chances of sitting in the box.
Just hope the refs do their job as a result.

GO LEAFS GO
Wrong ref to do that with Chris Lee is an old line east coast boys will be boys let da boys settle it themselves ref

Nice to see spezza back in the lineup but am skeptical about the decision to switch holl for lily. Sure the leafs coaching staff know what they are doing.

One more bad game from JT, and I woudn't mind seeing him demoted to the 3rd line. Oh wait we don't have a second line center. lol

I am quite hopeful. Were it not for the penalty troubles last game, the Leafs could be up 2-0 in this series all things considered. Just don't get coerced in to bad blood situations like Simmonds did last game, hard forecheck and quick movement of the puck out of the zone. Seems like Tampa is deploying a more NZ heavy trap game because they realized Toronto has faster team speed and Toronto didn't adjust. Play more like game one with the dump and chase mentality to break that up.

Wait, nvm. Keefe's lovechild in over the only D we have with a good wrister from the point. Lol. Holl better sit back and not ever think of pretending he's Bobby Orr out there. If he remembered he was 6'5 and used his body I wouldn't hate seeing him play as much.

I'm fairly certain Blackwell and Bunting among Leafs smallest forwards, are not sending any message similar like Simmonds and Clifford do, to change how TB will approach and game physically. IMO

The only message Clifford and Simmonds sent is that they're willing to give Stamkos and Kucherov tons of PP time. Point was also constantly clowning on the 4th line even strength.

If you're going to goon it up, you need to crush opponents into submission. I don't see any fear of Clifford or Simmonds in the way TB plays. A better response is sneaky dirty shit and agitating, which Bunting excels at (when healthy; I don't think he's 100%). You don't need to be big or imposing to do that either - it's not like Marchand is a giant.

Wouldn’t surprise me that perry or maroon will try to injure Campbell tonight
Soft lineup for game 3

Sad leafs don’t get it.

Glad Spezza is in but he should be centering Clifford and Simmonds. Sit Blackwell.

Don't be surprised if Perry and/or Maroon hurt one of our top players or put Campbell out of the series.

Sitting Lily is dumb too.

Holl in for Lily will have no impact on the game. Irrelevant thing to stress over.

Stay out of the box. Play with speed, intensity and purpose.

We’re better than them 5 on 5.

Seems like a really shitty time to take Clifford and Simmonds out. Keefe should really reassess what he's doing here.
