Carcone doesn’t have the goals, but I like his play better this year

I think Maccell needs to become more relevant.. his passes aren’t connecting, his stick handling turns into a give away ..

I sure hope he can turn into last years player , or he maybe be part of a trade deal

In fact that whole line could use a wake up call

Too many men on the ice penalty.. was a bad joke
I agree. Maccelli and Crouse had so many turnovers last night. What the hell happened to that line. Every line is outplaying them, by a wide margin. Also, I think Koly deserves more play time.

Why? the team has proven he is not needed, although I would like to see a player with muscle added to this team, just not LOB. I'm sure he is a nice guy and good in the room.
I dont disagree with your assessment. none the less, I enjoy watching him play. I think he came to the org via the avalanche, which would have added a bit to the intrigue.
But that all said, I’m not sure Crouse is more of a plus than LOB.

Avs just went 4-1 on a long road trip, let down game for them last night. We got 2 lucky bounce goals too. I thought the game was pretty even most of the way. On a positive note, and even though the Avs were off, took us lightly, our team D was much better, we limited their chances and we didn't turn the puck over as much. This is a key to our success, I hope it continues and wasn't just the Avs relaxing a bit.

yes, those 1st two both deflected by Av skaters … but we take those with the bad bounces against. Veggie was pretty darn good and the rest of the team, as you said, worked hard on D. It seemed like the Avs waited until the 3rd to turn it up… gotta drive their fans at the game a little crazy.

Winning is all that matters, and it doesn't matter how you get it done. I don't believe the Av's took Utah lightly, they may have been a bit tired, but the Av's schedule is no worse than Utah's so I don't think you can use that as an excuse. It all evens out over the season.

I agree - in terms of the metric for results, there is only one - W’s.
How to get those W’s is the freaking hard part.

Sure, winning is all that matters, just don't get too excited because we beat a top level team, once, under the circumstances. I hope as the season goes along, this proves out to be winning because the Coyotes are good, versus, lucky bounces and a tired team.

If Utah isn't allowed to use all the injuries to their D as an excuse then COL doesnt get to use their schedule or lucky bounces as excuses. Or their revolving door of goaltenders.

Avs game was the third in four nights for Utah right after their own long road trip.

Next???

People bitch if Utah loses, and bitch when they win. This team is still growing and there will be ups and downs during the year, and as of today they have played themselves back into the wild card conversation. I thought they should have done that last year, but maybe the landscape has changed because of the parity in the league. Look at the standing as see how teams are bunched up for a wild card position.

If you look a Utah's wins, they have beat top level teams quite often. Bounces, injuries, schedule etc. are all part of the game and ALL teams go through it at sometime during the year.

Reads the AVS board, they are saying the team didn't play well or play hard.

Excuses.

Maybe they didn't play well because of the way UHC played against them and not because of [INSERT EXCUSE HERE]. The most generic excuse I can think of is "we didn't play our best." It was the best they could do for that game, against that team, at that moment.

A win is a win.

  1. People love to bitch
  2. Yes, we've beat many top teams. Cobra's logic for how this happens has never changed, no matter how flawed.

I think Cobra should change his name to "Team D,"
In his defense, team D is what's responsible for the teams progression and any success that may come in the future. I've said it many times before..... harder to produce offensively when being responsible defensively. They appear to be figuring out how to get both accomplished. Good on them and Bear for moving forward, hoping that the progression continues.
