Lafreniere is just playing like a polite guest in this league right now. He will gain confidence and come into his own but he just looks like a fan content to watch his favorite players right now

Couldn't generate as many good looks that period but we've done an excellent job at giving them nothing. Great team-defense game so far.
Still plenty of development time left, but Chytil makes some odd decisions with the puck that makes me question whether he'll be able to process the game fast enough to be a legit top-6 centre

I think a lot of the anxiety around those two has stemmed from the idea that franchise players are good right away.
But we don't need them to be franchise players. Adam Fox is the franchise. We just need them to be good.
Caps were crying and complaining because they don't know what a clean hit looks like.

People ripping apart Kakko which I think he had two good periods, was involved defensively, etc. and then we see Laf just standing there in the defensive zone.
