Tongue-in-cheek aside, this is actually a bigger concern out here in Leaf land than anyone wants to mention.

Matthews doesn’t even play a physical game. Draisaitl takes and gives significantly more contact than nostril man and yet the guy has missed a total of NINE games since 2016.
For sure. There’s more than enough evidence at this point to doubt his durability.

I think Malkin relied on his skating, skill, and size/advantage a lot in his elite days. Drai is more cerebral, and can slow the game down. So if Drai takes a step back physically, he’ll still be able to create.
When we drafted him I compared his style to Jumbo Joe. He's that but a much better goalscorer and a better skater.

Considering little offseason due to the SC run its just incredible what his work rate is in that he plays the strong hard physical game bulling pucks all the time. Don't know how he does it. Is he turning into another Ovechkin in longevity too. Most players start to decline. What a horse. I think even the Minny crowd were giving some respect. Hard not to like the player. mention as well that he drew two penalties and with the Hartman pulling off helmet should've been three, one period.

I was with you until there.

Let’s not pretend that Drai is a likeable player lol. He’s pretty hated for being a bit dirty and a complete asshole on the ice by our rivals.

That being said, that’s part of the reason why he’s one of my favourites. Every Gretzky needs a Messier.

Yep. Mostly due to I didn't know if would still be healthy. He'd had these nagging injuries hampering him for seemingly a year and a half. Was wondering if it was gonna go away. Pretty clear he's feeling 100% and healthy. I didn't think he had another 50G season in him this season but proving everybody wrong. Still, I figured he'd be around 40-110pts this season.
makes sense. I would place a large wager, though, that he is still scoring more than 40 pts/season at age 40.
