Big Game Story: Déjà Vu ... a rare scheduling quirk gives Los Angeles a chance at another home victory over Phoenix,
which has set an unpleasant team record by being shut out for three straight games - four in a row on the road.
Kings need to remind the Coyotes which team won the Stanley Cup Championship. GO KINGS GO !!!

Rookie Forward TYLER TOFFOLI said:
"It was just a shot from the point and hit their D-man, and then Carts made a good play. He put it between his legs, and it just came right to me and I just shot it.” (On the immediate feelings after scoring his first goal) … “I was happy, relieved. I…got the first one out of the way, so hopefully there’s more to come.” (On how his game changed after his goal) … “I definitely felt more relaxed and a lot more comfortable, I think, just from playing more. I just keep myself going, and it felt pretty good out there.” (On playing amidst the challenging schedule) … “I’ve just got to come back and do the same thing over again. Just keep it simple and play the same way.” (On the standing ovation he received after scoring his first goal) … “It was incredible. I didn’t expect that. I just had goosebumps, and it was a great feeling.” (On whether he knew what he wanted to do when he found himself with a scoring chance) … “I mean, the last game I had a couple good chances, so this one, I really wanted to put it in. I mean, I got a good bounce of their D-man and Carts made a nice play to me, and I just shot it.” (On where the game puck will go) … “Probably to my parents. I mean, my first American league goal went to them, and [first] OHL goal too. I think they’re definitely going to get it.” (On the feeling of scoring in the NHL) … “Any kid dreams to play in the NHL and to score, and to be playing with the linemates I’m playing with now, it’s an honor, and I just want to keep playing my game.” (On what allowed the team to have all the third period zone time after two close periods) … “We just kept putting pressure on their D-men, kept putting pucks deep and the game just kept going our way, and we kept getting bounces. We just kept putting a lot of pressure and kept scoring.” (On whether it feels like he’s “arrived”) … “You’ve just got to take it day by day and keep on playing the best you can. I’m just doing that right now, and I just want to stay in the lineup and keep playing well.“ (On whether his celebration was his usual goal celebration) … “It just kind of comes out of whatever’s at the top of my head. I was pretty excited. I mean, I didn’t even know what I was doing when I was scored."
Goaltender JONATHAN QUICK said:
"I thought I played well, I was seeing pucks well and the guys did a good job of clearing out lanes and letting me see it. I let a couple of rebounds get away from me, but we did a good job of making sure there weren't second opportunities. It's just good to win. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how you do it. You still get two points."
Head coach DARRYL SUTTER said:
"I put him on the ice on the power play. He should come and thank me."

- UPCOMING SCHEDULE -
March2013ScheduleBIG_zps9ce1b816.png

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Didn't we just play these ****s? :sarcasm:

8-2. Carter with 2. Toffoli goes -2 this game.

Edit:

This will be Slava's 82nd game. In his "rookie season", he has 12+27=39 if he doesn't score tomorrow. FWIW, Drew had 27 points in his first season, in which he missed one game. So at the same point in their careers, Slava has outscored drew by 12 points and has 6 more goals than him. That's also more than Jack had in his fourth season and only 3 points behind Jack's single season high. But in that season, Jack was a -21. Slava is +22. So basically, Slava is Russian God.

We'll see how long him and Muzzin can fly under the radar, though I'd also argue Doughty drawing attention gives these guys the room to let their talent fly.

Gotta protect the slot hard tonight. Tippett and all the Coyotes players say nothing but "crash the net, get puck luck" in their interviews.

Start Behrn-yay, but leave the skaters as they are. Things looked good last night. If the Stoll line can step up again, then ride them for as much as they can play. Our top 6 played a bunch last night.

You can add one to the IR...

Mike Smith (shattered ego)

Here's hoping he gets pulled again. Would love to see that.
Honestly though I feel like the cryotes are due to score a couple, and we are do to go to OT sooner rather than later.

I say we take it 3-2 in a SO.

Oops. Spoke too soon.

LOL MT @KingsNewsDaily: Bernier & Quick try to leave ice at same time, get stuck in the gate. No one will be in goal tonight for #LAKings

Now, that's what I call competitive. :)

wouldnt mind giving scud a break, and have drewiske in for tonight. This schedule is looking like its effecting him more than the other younger players.

I agree that someone should be given a break. Not sure if i would switch scuds or ellerby.
I like the idea of rotating in your scratches into depth spots on back to backs.

That was great last night, after they kicked our ass's in Phoenix last week we needed that win, now lets show them that game was a fluke by whopping 2 nights in a row with 2 different goalies and 20yr old rookie in his 3rd game :handclap:

What good does it do to scratch Ellerby though, Scuderi is the one that needs a break.

I think it would be a good time to sit Scuderi. What's the point of having a somewhat veteran #7 defenseman around if he can't be trusted to jump into a situation like this and spell a guy that needs a rest.

If the Kings can jump on Phoenix with the first goal in the first 10 minutes of the game, it's going to be a real test for the Coyotes' character.

You can always tell when Scuds gets a bit worn out because he gets hit a lot more than usual. Yea, he's a boarding magnet but he got nailed a few times last night because he was missing a step.

I'm also expecting a chippier game tonight. Drewiske has been solid and good on the PK, so its a perfect time to get him a game.

This game is going to be abit chippy I feel. Would love to see Nolan in there to help back up our smaller players. The Yotes are hungry and are going to play wild hard nose hockey. Keep yer head on a swivel boys!!!

I wish we could sit him against Chicago, Columbus, or Colorado. The 4 point swing would be less of an issue if the D craps the bed.

Well.... Kings were crappy in 08-09 season. VV is on a team that won the stanley cup and again, one of the favorites to win again.
