Blues needed some luck and a few things to go right to get us out of this black hole since 2022. Things are starting to go right…Edmonton is utterly incompetent. They don’t deserve a Cup.
Yes! Blues needed some luck and were blessed with two key pieces. EDM does not deserve it, but if you go to HFStars, you'll see that they feel like they deserve it.

Tonight that was absolutely the case. Thomas is clearly a level way above Kyrou and Buch. This was a terrible game for Buch…hope he wakes up as he’s not playing C anymore.

Forgot Scheen with Holloway/Bolduc, let’s see Thomas center those 2!
I agree with Buch, less so with Kyrou.

Kyrou, while snake bitten, has been able to go into almost every game no matter who is line mates are and create chances, he just can't finish (seems like the story with him early season, it takes too long for him to dial in his shot). Tho he is still on pace for around 28-30 goals, and will go on a heater soon if history repeats itself again.

Buch, on the other hand, has just been completely lackluster offensively and defensively.

Buch is actually on a 5 game point streak right now.
It's just being overshadowed by Holloway going berserk.

EDIT: Sorry, it's a 6 game point streak for Buchy.

He is on a 6 game point streak yes. My issue with him is solely on the fact he is completely off his game this season. I think he will get back to normal tho. Tho, the player I have the biggest issue this year is Neighbours. I felt like he was going to come in and grow even more, but he feels just the same as last year, maybe even less effective.

I'm more upset with Saad.
His speed is going fast, he's been a complete ghost and he's dragging down every line he plays on.

I don't care much about Saad because I don't think he'll be here at the end of the year. He's just a Warm Body.

Texier might be the one I'm actually the most upset with. I think he has the ability to be a good middle 6 forward but he can't think the game well enough. I think Joseph should be getting into more games, but with WTF line being good and Holloway-Bolduc going off he doesn't really have a spot unless they sit Saad.

We can live with Saad going downhill. He’ll be gone soon. Buch, however, has the potential to be the next rough contract right as Schenn’s deal expires.

Possibly.
But his offense has come back since the coaching change/end of the Center experiment.
And with the guns we have coming, I don't think it will be nearly as magnified as Schenn's decline.

To speed up our re-whatever.
That was before we started re-tooling though so that was never gonna happen.

And actually even if we traded him at this past TDL, there’s a real possibility that he would have been sent to Edmonton for Broberg and Holloway.

So, I’d say it worked out as well as it could have, all things considered.

I stand corrected, Sir!!

It was the ‘23 TDL.

Then, will you want Thomas with Snuggeruud and Bolduc(or Buchnevich?). Saad and Schenn are really 3rd Liners now. #rd Line- Saad-Schenn-Neighbours? Or will Saad be gone?
I mean I don't expect it for at least a year. Saad is going to be gone for sure.

Bolduc seems like he’s so close to being a good 2nd liner. I never would’ve thought 2 years ago his compete level was going to be this high.

Holloway is a really fun player to watch.

We’re starting to have a good problem of having too many good young forwards, and the scary thing is the two who have been projected to be the best out of the bunch (of the recent wave of 1st rounders)aren’t at the NHL level yet.

I have a lot of faith in our development team currently.

Hope this upward trend only slightly slows down, it’s bound to happen. But you’re seeing alot more consistency from a lot of guys in the last two weeks.

I don’t really care about the outcome of this season or next really in terms of trying to really make a splash in the playoffs. But this injection of youth, not only youth, but high character/compete youth is really refreshing.

Bolduc has been a quiet, pleasant player to watch this season. His development has been gradual but consistent. I’m starting to really appreciate his work ethic as he seems determined to help the team win. He’s putting himself in plays and is still always actively trying to cover his defensive assignments, even if it isn’t successful.

I always viewed his game would be a flawed goal scorer with a similar impact to a Jordan Eberle. But it’s apparent how much he’s working and hustling. Him and Holloway both just getting the results this game is the icing on the cake.
