In the playoffs on American Thanksgiving. You go to war with the Army that you have. Glass half full, and at least we are not the Toronto 67’s (pun intended). Let’s go.
Technically, the Sabres are in and we're out. They have a .523 win pct and we have a .521 win pct.

Glass half full: we're so close.
Glass half empty: close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.

Oh, of course! I hadn't even thought of that.

Well, no. I know nothing about USA Hockey rules, I just wasn't considering the race aspect at all - bit of an unusual situation.
The race now is to the dots. Used to race the whole way, but too many injuries. I remember Pat Peake with the Washington Capitals shattered his ankle in multiple places racing to the end boards to touch the puck first. IIRC, he never played again.

For all the doomsday sayers out there the Boston is currently third in the division three points behind first place Toronto two behind second place Florida with five easy games in a row coming up penguins Canadians Red wings Blackhawk flyers
No easy games for this team. They benefited last night from an Islanders team that
had Pelech on D and Barzal out. Add in a not sharp Sorokin and they broke open a tight game in the last 9 minutes of the game. I expect at least one loss in regulation in the next five. I think 3-1-1 is an expected record.

Don't see why it should be expected to be that good.

That would be fine 7 points in five games. If they can maintain that consistency they'll make the playoffs easily

I had forgotten that. He did play a few more games, but you're correct, that injury and the resulting long-term pain ended his career. Sad.
Good change to the rules to be sure.

If we traded Coyle I think it would wake up the rest of the roster. He's the one dragging Freddy down.

I like the 4th line but sick of them being sacred cows that can't be split up. Surprised Sacco is just as stubborn about that.
Hey BigGoal, are you trying to be the Felger , of HOF, because if you are you have exceeded all expectations, man you can come up with some shit. .........

That's not a line.

Geekie is the left wing, not Marchand, with Zacha and Pasta.
Minor mistake.
Trading Coyle won't wake up anyone.

He's not dragging Freddy down.

The 4th line has been broken up several times.
You are right on Coyle, do not screw with the 4th line was tried already and did not work, if anything just give them a little more ice time as a unit. Freddy does need to get going no doubt, it would be and wiser over the long haul if he could get going, I would not dismiss what he has done the last two years and they be outweighed by this year. I really think it would more beneficial if they could get him going, rather than trading him, and know he is going to be a FA. I also would add that if a deal came along that helps the team than you must consider it.

Kreider is on the back 9 like Marchand. You gotta do a deal that moves out an unwanted salary IMO with NYR.

We always get it together this time of year apart from the Black Friday game which can be a stinker. We can easily get the season back on track in the next week.

I just want to be able to coast to a wildcard spot. Home ice is a disservice to us in the playoffs. If we're in the 2-3 really prefer to not play Toronto and id take Florida or Tampa.
Yea, for sure the Bruins would need to shed to make it work.Team like Buffalo has the cap and right there on bubble.

Depends on what you are replacing him with.Freddy can sign where he wants once this season is over so that cannot be ignored .If they want to keep him it better be at a price that works for the Bruins..
