I've been cautiously positive about Wario's coaching, but his management of Smith has been a concern. At the end of the day, it's not just his job to win games––we're in the basement. At this stage his primary job is to set Smith and Macklin up to win us games in seasons down the line. Only time will tell, but it's unclear to me if the approach he's taken with Smith will help towards those ends.

SNOG 3-0 Sharks, Celebrini hat trick.

Kings are one game above .500 hockey; bring em back down to even. We might be trash, but at least we gotta do our part to keep those pesky southerners from getting too high and mighty.

The development of Celebrini is by far more important than Will, so forcing Celebrini to have to play with a player who's already having a hard time processing the game at NHL speed isn't good for anyone. At least this way allows Smith the luxury of not having the pressures of A) producing right away and B) preventing Celebrini from producing.

after how poorly he played last game, I’m assuming some concussion like symptoms have popped up for Graund after that headshot he took against STL
Apparently a nasty cold is going through the lockers so he may be patient zero and they're trying to keep him away to minimize the spread.

H. Thank You for the Comedy I hope the cover charge isn't too bad. :biglaugh:
He's not necessarily wrong. It's important to differentiate between the player he is now and the player he will eventually become.

I agree with you. I think both kids should be played with talent players in a top 6 role separate from one another.

It doesn't matter how bad Smith is, if he's playing in the NHL (which he is, and the Sharks seem committed to this path) he needs to be learning his actual NHL role, which is to play top 6 hockey. I don't understand how playing him with grinders against grinders is more productive for his development than the AHL.

Two things:

1) who else in this current line-up would that mean? Putting him with Toffoli would mean putting him back at center and the game is already too fast for him without being the focal point of a line. Regardless, there's not exactly a surplus of offensive skill to pair him with

2) Playing and learning a role that doesn't require to much of him right now may indeed be the best thing for his development. His offense is gonna be there regardless, we've all seen it at Boston, but so far it's only shown up in rare moments in the NHL. In the meantime let him focus on the other parts of his game that inevitably he WILL need to work on and develop as some point.
