I'm not sure how you can fault Lalonde for how he arranges the three Titanic deck chairs of Petry, Holl, and Gustafsson. Sure, he could use Johansson more than he has, and one of those 3 less, but no matter how you arrange the fixings in a shit sandwich, it's still a shit sandwich.

"We need to fire this cook because he won't add more mayo and put in the middle" doesn't make a lot of sense to me. And you're not even putting the mayo in the middle -- you've got him on the bottom pairing.

I could think of a couple of guys we could have kept that would be better than any of those 3 deck chairs, but that's water under the bridge now, and there's another thread for that discussion.

Kasper and Berggren have been skating hard, have higher ceilings , would mean more to this team long term then Motte. Those two when they were with Tarasenko were the only forwards outside whoever was with Larkin that had an offensive pulse for games. Wonder why the team seems disengaged most nights?

Decisions that get made make no sense. The excuse of effort doesn’t line up anymore. It’s just dumb decisions in hopes of unearthing a hidden gem/perfect fit.
