He put Neighbors out on the shoot-out. I was a little surprised by that, pleasantly.

Neighbours is growing up fast and I've really liked his game lately. I noticed that Bannister even gave him a shift late in the game when we were protecting the lead so that tells me he's earning more of the coach's trust. Pretty impressed with how much he's matured as a hockey player and still four months shy of his 23rd birthday.

Was nice to see Kyrou show a little fire and passion. I'd like to see more of that. The only good thing about Thomas being out is that is kind of forced Kyrou to be THE guy on our offense and he's looked pretty damn good the past 10 games or so. Now we just need to jumpstart Buchy because he's seemed off all season. As a team, we need to get a lot better at burying scoring chances because that game shouldn't have been as close as it was.

Middle 59:30 of that game was a snoozefest. Way to get the win, Binner.

I was born just after Hall and Plante, but they were already HoF caliber players before they arrived on the Blues, which is hard for me to fairly rank them alongside Binnington. Yes it was solid play, but there were also just five other expansion teams to outplay. Same as Fuhr. Fuhr for what it's worth was not better as a Blue than Binninngton. I put a premium on being a playoff nails goalie and by the time he got to us Fuhr's best days in that department were behind him. Fuhr like Hall and Plante did the vast majority of their legend work first. We even had Brodeur for a few games!

Curtis Joseph is definitively inferior to Binnington. Number 1, wake me when Binnington dogs out a Game 7 by six goals. Joseph gets SO overrated it's not funny. He stole 1 playoff series. So did Allen. Roman Turek won two series in 2000. Casey was pretty decent in 1996, he took an all time regular season team to the absolute limit scoreless. Joseph had some good moments for Toronto but he did nothing of true significance in the playoffs, he was just generally decent. Hall of Decent.

By my personal eye test and comfort with all the goalies since the mid 70s there is no question for me who is #1 it's Jordan Binnington, #50

that season they were a sub .500 ancient legends of hockey team that added gretzky near the deadline so they had a puncher's chance. the wings that year had one of the best regular seasons in hockey history
Exactly

People get caught up too much in statistics.

I have watched since Liut days. Add Binnington to any team since then and he increases the chances of winning.

There are not that many people in this world who truly understand how great Dan Kelly was, but the way he called Liut's magical 80-81 season ... I am so grateful I experienced that. I would put Liut #2

+1 on both points. Since the team hasn’t been winning much recently the great play of these 2 forwards (especially Kyrou) doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. I think Kyrou is leading the team in points with a lot of solid assists. At the same time he isn’t overpassing like he has in the past as he lead the team in the SOG category.

If a couple of those goal post shots went in then he might have really taken off. Hopefully moving Buch back to wing for a bit will let him focus more on his offensive side, which is badly needed right now. I’m not a huge fan of putting those 3 together but they are familiar with each other.

Jake is also playing with 2 struggling line-mates in Saad and Scheen. It would be nice for Scheen to wake up from one of his annual slumps.
