141512782_slide.jpg
Forward & Team Captain DUTIN BROWN said:
(On the challenges presented by Vancouver) … “We were a little sloppy in our own end, and they have a good offensive club. They were opportunistic on their chances. We gave up two-on-one to their two best players, and they make it happen. We’ve just got to sharpen up on the D-zone, I think. Five man units, top to bottom.” (On the momentum shift in the second period) … “I thought we actually had the momentum going our way after Noley had that big goal for us. They come back and score that goal, it’s a big momentum swing. We had the momentum going our way, and then it did a complete 180. We’ve got to just clean up.” (On how the game slipped away) … “It happened pretty quickly. That’s just what happens when you lose focus for a couple minutes in this league.” (On the attempt to equalize against Vancouver’s defensive effort in the third period) … “Yeah, they were sitting back pretty good, I think, with the two goal lead. They sat back and flipped – I don’t know how many times they flipped the puck out in the third. Two D back with almost two forwards back and one guy forechecking, so we were unable to get in behind them and get any pucks really turned over for some offense. We had a couple shifts here and there, but it’s just about work."
Defenseman DREW DOUGHTY said:
( On the team’s ability to bounce back from adversity) … “I think we’re pretty good at it. We’ve dealt with a lot of adversity this whole year. We have every year. A lot of our leader have learned from it, and I think going into these next few games, we know what we did wrong and we know what our coaches would be expecting from us and what everyone’s going to be expecting from us, and that’s a couple wins, so that’s what we’re going to do.” (On whether Jonathan Quick is too hard on himself) … “I don’t think he’s too hard on himself. I think everyone’s pretty hard on themselves. That’s why we’re professional hockey players, because we realize the things we can do, and when we’re not doing them, we’re not happy with ourselves and we beat ourselves up about it. But no, Quickie can’t take the blame for that. Some of those goals were two-on-ones. They were shots that were going high. They were backdoor passes. Definitely don’t blame the game on Quickie. A lot of us defensemen need to help him out more and take away those opportunities and the forwards need to do a better job of not creating those turnovers and keeping the puck in their zone more than in ours.” (On players being ‘their own worst critic’ and Quick never calling out his teammates) … “You don’t want anyone on your team throwing teammates under the bus. If we’re watching TV or whatever here, and we see another guy on another team throw his team under the bus, immediately we just think that guy’s a bad guy. You don’t ever see anyone on this team do that. That’s because we’re such a close team. We’re a good group of guys. We all love each other, and we all play for the man beside us."
Goaltender JONATHAN QUICK said:
( On whether he was unable to find his focus) … “No, it wasn’t focus or anything. I just didn’t stop the puck.” (On whether it was “one of those days” ) … “I just didn’t stop the puck. I didn’t make enough saves for my team to give them a chance to win."
Head coach DARRYL SUTTER said:
(On the challenges presented by Vancouver) … “They got a lead, and we came back and [it was] similar to our other games. Tough game. They scored four goals, right? That’s a big challenge.” (On what didn’t work against Vancouver) … “They scored on the few opportunities that they had.” (On Jonathan Quick appearing to “fight to the puck” ) … “I agree.” (On what Quick needs to do to get back on track) … “Not fight the puck.” (On battling from behind[/B]) … “We did a good job. We had a lot of good opportunities. It’s hard when you’ve got to score four goals.” (On containing the Sedins) … “Well, they’re two really good players. One might lead the league in assists, and one might lead the league in goals, so…your defensemen that you play against them have to be on their game, and your goaltender has to be on his game.” (On the team’s next step) … “We’re just going to fly home, get home in the middle of the night and play Nashville on Monday.” (On whether any momentum was lost) … “There’s no momentum in a 48-game schedule. You win, you move on. You lose, you move on."

[shadow=Silver] LET'S GO KINGS !!! [/shadow]

- UPCOMING SCHEDULE -
Feb-Mar13Schedule_zps00002131.png

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Kings need to score first. Nashville plays great with a lead so if you can get ahead they will eventually need to open it up and that's when they are vulnerable.

This is just one of those teams that has our number.

Bernier should get the start tonight based on his record v the preds and not because of Quicks last outing.

We really need a good game to recover from that Vancouver loss. I dont care who's in net i just want to see our boys up front score the first goal of the game, this playing from behind BS happens way to often.

The Big Giant Head has spoken! Please make it so.

That can really change the complexion of the game against a team like Nashville, too. Make them chase us, boys! GKG!

I've always hated playing against the Preds. We tend to suck every time. Hopefully JB will have a stellar performance.
