Pre-Game Talk: Game 2 of the Toronto Maple Leafs vs Tampa Bay Lightning series

I know sire. Its that TRUMP HUUUGE emotion right now for errrbody on us... the crowd that was really, really special last night with martina ortiz. She sangs like the best of them and is even young too. :heart: ⌛ But yeah the key word is (emotion) now.... it brangs up memories of those pat teams in the past, even that hard n heavy randy twerka carlyle team when they almost beat the bruins. We then had the crowd with us. Now.... its back. The emotion and energy makes us do thangs and move thangs..... peoople are getting even pregnant. (don't do it though sire, if you aren't 100% sure.) The burden and responsibilty is huge also. Its' big. But yeah back to the emotion.... it makes our brain do so many thangs and brings us together also. So that's fun and joyful and this entertainment (sports) units us and our OWN memories. Now we are making new ones with this thug squad and organization. Its like fever.

Tampa is no slouch team and have been through this many times. They have lost Game 1 three out of the past eight series.

Tampa will come out guns a blazing. Maroon and Perry will try to disturb the flow and the Leafs will need to stay disciplined and focused.

If Tampa scores early then it will be a sign if they pack it in.

I think we will see a close hard faught game that is a coinflip.

The other side of this is if Tamp comes out flying and the Leafs handle it and win then Tampa is in serious trouble.

Yea, but they were never so soundly defeated in a game 1 out of those 3 losses, were they?
 
Everyone registered a hit last game cept Kase which seems hard to believe. Everyone was flying. Kerfoot, Nylander and Engvall didn't register any points. But they were playing hard in there own zone and some of the players who were creating chances out of nothing. Love the heart and effort out there.

DoPS is a joke and the Leafs have consistently gotten shafted. Not surprising. One of the fastest teams in the league being bottom 5 in PP opportunities while the Avs are 1st every year is hilarious. How that isn't biased is beyond me.

Still, super hyped to watch more playoff hockey. Hopefully this time more 5 on 5.

Good grief! Clifford just got fined less than 2 weeks ago for his actions against the same team. I suspect that almost anyone would get a suspension in that situation.

Also, playing the victim card is never a good look for any fanbase.

This is a different group this year, I have not seen that determination in a long time! Having the M&M boys get off on the jump is truly a favorable sign!

The general atmosphere around HFBoards regarding the Leafs win is not so much as the Leafs won but rather Tampa didn't show up and played poorly. Leafs will never get credit for outplaying the opponent.

Same game plan last night, continue to block shots, box out well and don't give Tampa too many secondary chances. Staying out of the box for tomorrow will be big as well, I doubt Tampa goes snakebiten with that many chances again.

Adding Bunting to the lineup will be a big add for us, I can see him being a menace out there for us after his comments in the presser from earlier.

I expect game two will be a far firmer test for the Leafs than was game 1. You don’t become a 2x Champ team without rising to the occasion. There’s a lot of pride in Tampa’s dressing room and they’ll be flying out of the gate, trying to put their stamp on the series. A pity about Clifford, but understandable, he’d have played hard tomorrow. Simmonds can’t be the only one to step up, like yesterday the team needs to be ready for the pushback and handle the crap they’ll face with determination and anger. I would not play Bunting unless they are confident he is sufficiently healed. He can make a difference later in the series, I would hate to see an injury aggravated because they rushed him. Spezza will step in and throw his weight. I want to see the same from Ilya and Pierre, both strong in game 1. I think Lily will be more physically active after his success in game 1, and with Boosh, Jake, Geo and Captain Morgan feeling chuffed I don’t fear us getting whipped. If our best are at their best, we’ll win.

Go Leafs Go!
 
I hope the lineup doesn't get too much shuffling. Kind of hesitant to change a good thing. With bunting in and Clifford out, we might see all four lines affected.
