This deal has been in the works for a while...and its safe to say that Tamp GM "the Nudge" had a steep price on the young sniper. We gave up some quality prospects and character players....Franzen and Smith moving shortly after the Parise trade. We didn't want to move any of these guys....but sometimes you have to pay the price to get a franchise guy. This team hasn't seen this kind of player since the prime of Marian Gaborik.

Normally I wouldn't do this kind of deal since I didn't have enough quality and have too much quantity. But I felt that getting some character player like Franzen,Clutterbuck,Matt Cullen will benefit us going foward and maybe goign far in the playoff run.

Looks like we're done in Florida. No talks happening at the moment. Would still love to trade Gud+ for a better D, but we are content. I think we went from a bubble team to a contender. Best C depth in the league.
Still shocked Parise and Stamkos waived NTCs, but then again, I can't think of a time someone's NTC wasn't waived in these games

I agree but in the next Game watch out. I just felt presure and the game dwelling. So I said **** it why not. But normally I wouldn't of done it since I got too much depth and not enough quality. But it's done and I'll move one and get my self a center is there's any available.

I was kind of surprised to see Parise waive....but I think its rare that players would NOT waive. It's more the fact that I traded Parise after he just got signed....but I wasn't the guy who signed him....obviously....
