How can they call the icing before the goal is scored when it wasn't eligible to be called yet because the skaters hadn't reached the circle

Ref f***ed up big time

Good to get a win when trailing by two and Fleury is in the net. The captain with the equaliser and the GWG on his birthday.
Now the time has come for The Prankster to give him a shaving foam cake in the face during the post game interview.

Here we go with the stupid ass “Rossi is a victim and Hynes hates him”
Explain to me why he doesn't get a look on the PP or the last 2 minutes after he has drawn that penalty? Boldy, Johansson, Kap, Ek where all out there, Rossi was the only one of the top 6 who didn't.

Trenin was even out there

They played with 2 defenders to protect the lead, then Kap got caught on an extended shift. If he had managed to get off the ice, I think Rossi would have played on that last PP shift.

Faceoff prowess, or lack thereof. Course Ek is going to get the call when the situation is protecting a lead

It's more likely that double shifting Kaprizov was the intention, Gaudreau was the center on the ice for the last part of the PP

Rossi has been right in the mix with Ek and Gaudreau in faceoffs the entire season, historically you could argue that Ek and Gaudreau have been better than Rossi defensively, this season I'm not sure there's been much of a difference. Rossi has been better than both all around.

It’s pretty easy: Hynes wanted to have two D men out there with a one goal lead. And Kap just stayed out the whole two minutes.

That could be true, I'll guess we'll never know.

Probably not. It does seem like Hynes doesn't fully trust Rossi at this point though, for whatever reason. Although reuniting him with Kaprizov earlier in the game is arguably the biggest reason we ended up winning this game.

Anyways, the important thing is they won the game. What's NOT very important is that this or that player gets an extra 25 seconds in the last minute of the game.
See you all tomorrow!

Shhhhhh, don’t let certain posters see this. Doesn’t fit their narrative.

I actually think Rossi is slowly climbing up the ladder. And I think the small step approach they seem to take with giving him responsibility starts to make sense. Rossi is earning it right now and he gets put more and more in prime situations. Not all of them and he doesn’t have to be. There are others ahead of him on the priority list. He will get there eventually.

Hard fought game all in all, the team bailed out Fleury again. Well them and Mrazek. The wild still find a way to win almost every game. Just gotta hope we didn’t lose another player to injury. Really starting to pile up

I agree, I think he's really proving his worth this season and if he continues this level of play or improves, I don't really see it being an issue in the future.

I don't think it's a big conspiracy against Rossi, or that Hynes hates him as a person, I think it goes back to trust, like I said, and in order to build that trust, Rossi needs to continue to succeed when called on, but in the meantime, while Hynes doesn't fully trust him yet, it does make for some interesting/funny/frustrating deployment, at times.

The Captain steps up :thumbu:

Kaprizov slowing down without his buddy, but it's okay, others can find a way to win.
