Fairly certain you just made these words up
Gravad lax is salmon, stuff that goes on julbordet along with lutfisk. Surströmming is the smell from hell. I can't eat it, the smell is so bad you're gonna puke.
Gravad lax on the other hand is a gift from the gods.

Ukko-Pekka is a classic ass name? I am honestly interested in this as I would have no idea.

Oh it is. "Pekka" is the most classic Finnish male name you can get, and "Ukko-Pekka" is just this old-fashioned variation/compound name. For reference, president Pehr Evind Svinhufvud had that as his nickname. He served from 1931 to 1937. It was also the nickname of service rifle M39, which was used in WW2.

In general, it's not something I expect to see as a name for someone born in 1999. Cool name though, not gonna lie, just old-fashioned.

Is it raw?
Gravad lax is salmon that you put in a mix of salt and sugar for a few days. The word gravad is from the 1600s when they dug a small hole and put the fish in. It is important to put it somewhere cool.
Grav means grave in english.

That is cool! Thank you for the information. I never would have placed all that together by myself. That was interesting.

Addendum: Serve with potatoes and a bit of dill. So freaking good. Or on top of rye bread, that works as well.

Ham is a holiday tradition here, but we usually had gravlax instead. Sis is pectoveg, but it's also just... better. Bit more expensive these days sadly so haven't had any for ages, but you used to get decent deals every now and then.

My wife’s family came from Norway. We farm a pice of ground that belonged to her great uncle. His name was Dagfin. We still call that piece Dagfin’s. I think it’s a really cool name. I also think there was another brother Torius. Those names are so cool.

Iowa, where people cease to exist.

...Come to think of it, those corn fields are spooky.
You need to come even farther North of Iowa…..try South Dakota….corn fields, soybean fields and -40 below windchills in the winter….keeps the riff raff out…..
