Yeah not sure what the rules are on a try out deal, but my guess is it is a way to get him over here and practicing/playing just to see what they think. Could be a thing where they want to make sure they think he can handle the AHL or that he is ok with things before anything more long term is signed.

I'm more interested in Askarov than any prospect I can remember, outside of "my" teams.

Cant wait to see what this guy can do.

There was a deadline for players in the AHL to be eligible for the playoffs. I think it was the NHL deadline (which is why Krebs, Samuelsson and Fitzgerald were paper sent down to Rochester that day). Anybody added after that was unable to play, which is why you’ve seen a bunch of signings where they were on an ATO. It’s why Josh Bloom is with Rochester right now, but can’t play.

Based on how he plays on their AHL club , I’d at least consider signing him to his ELC and tryig him out this playoffs or ??? It woild be a very unfair situation to throw him into though. Playoffs agaimst one of the best teams in the league that just finished mopping the floor with you .

I mean it's possible he'd still welcome the challenge, total trial by fire sort of thing.

Maybe it'd inspire him to play out of his mind.....especially if the game's in Nashville.

I wonder if getting pumped by one of the best teams in the leagues would build character or set confidence back? Honestly would understand someone's stance on either side. It's a big risk though.
