I was one of those upset people. He may be proving me wrong.

Scott and I have along with everyone that checks the prospects thread been having fun with draft/prospects for some time now. When Scott doesn't like a pick in his way he tells you. When a team makes their pick it's made. We can say we like or not like it and there is nothing wrong with that. We have no problem admitting right or wrong. The pros get it wrong let along we amateurs who have fun with it, that's the draft with it's hits and misses.

Both of us didn't like Ville Pokka at the time but over the last two years in Finland he changed our minds. Pokka ended up becoming Leddy who has been a better player than I thought at the time of the trade so happy to be wrong about not liking the pick. Haven't followed Pokka in the AHL since he is no longer an Islander so can't say how he is doing.

Back to Williams as Scott said totally off the board. Now that he is signed he can get into a few games before getting a real look at him next year. If proves us wrong great, we want our picks/prospects to do well whether they help the Islanders or be part of a trade like Pokka.

Quick look at the goaltending depth, Williams in Bridgeport, have to see if Motte is retained beyond this.

McAdam-Will go into his third year at Penn State. The problem is Penn State still has three goalies and playing time could be an issue again.
Soderstrom-Shorty after the World Junior he had what was called corrective hip surgery (may not be a big deal), believe he has one more year on his contract in Sweden.
Sorokin-Looks the have the most raw ability of this group, still has two years left on his KHL contract.

Sorry, wasn't trying to call anyone out. As I recall, some posters (I think you were one of them) were saying we should've taken Fasching, who looked very good at the WJCs this year and certainly has pro size and skating. So, I am definitely not trying to say anything about who was right or wrong.

Trust me, I want to be proven long, and I have no problem with people pointing it out. I love when our prospects succeed. I absolutely love the NHL draft and reading about prospects, very passionate about it, that's why I love this website, especially this thread. In a perfect world, all of our prospects succeed, but we all know that isn't possible.

Poulin is not coming back with the Isles!! he said it himself earlier this season on a french sport network! he doesnt want to spent another season in the AHL.

So he will move on elsewhere....better for both side

Poulin could be a possibility as our back up next year. He's now a few years removed from his surgery. I'd at least give him a look.

Jesus. We've gotten more looks at Poulin do than there are cameras at the Super Bowl. He's a good kid, but the injury a few years ago did in his chances of making a difference at the big show. Sometimes it's time to move on and that time has come for Poulin and the Isles.

I don't think Poulin done enough in Bport this season to earn himself the chance of being the backup next season, let alone get a new deal.
