I'm curious where he will play next season. Could return to USHL or maybe he gets selected in the CHL Import Draft and goes that route.

He should stick on the USHL/NCAA path. If you have a choice, you always should as a goalie.

Undrafted was not expecting that to be honest.
I'm also surprised and a little disappointed. There were a lot of goalies drafted, even some obscure ones and nobody took a chance on him. But he can still get drafted as an overager.

I'm not too surprised, to be honest, after seeing Hockeyprospect didn't even mention him in the Black Book and EliteProspects had him as an "F" prospect. This is what EP said about him in their guide:

Slovak netminder Samuel Urban is one of the more polarizing goaltenders of the 2023 NHL Draft.
On the one hand, the technical aspects of his game are very polished. He does a lot of the little things right – such as sealing
up the post and smooth transitions out of reverse-VH. On the other hand, questions about his ceiling linger due to his below-average size and strength.
Urban is achieving success right now because he is very aware of his limitations. He stays within himself, doesn’t try to push the gas pedal too hard, and often falls back on his technical foundation to make saves. You won’t see him make any desperation moves unless it is absolutely necessary.
He is a good enough skater to get by, but the cracks begin to show as the game speeds up around him. A big step is needed in terms of his physical ability in order for Urban to continue his success at the next level.

I think the EP guide is a decent indication, because unlike most other publications, they have an actual goalie coach doing the evaluations.

But as @alko said:
Its not a tragedy. Look for Gajan. He should be drafted last year, wasnt. Perfect Juniors and boom - 2. round in Chicago!

Next year is possible for Urban.
Agreed.

Possible Ubran is an overage candidate next season, but he needs to show more in his club. If he were to be drafted this year, it would be mostly based off the U18 WJC, maybe the Hlinka a bit, where he was also good. But that's not enough for undersized goalie, they tend to go on those short hot streaks very often it seems like.

Also, Gajan is a very unique case, not even his own mother probably knew who he was last year. He was an overager, but he may have been as well considered a first time eligible, considering how out of nowhere he came.

Undersized goalie? He is 6'1. Also in which in da club he must have shown anything? Slovakia U18?

Yes, he is 6'1, undersized. Maybe had he gone to the USHL earlier, he would have found himself among those selected yesterday. People expected him to be picked based on one/two tournaments, which is not going to happen, unless you also have intriguing physical tools, which Urban clearly does not possess.

Undersized by NHL scouts who seem to only draft goalies taller than 6'2, probably yes

6'1 is not undersized period. Same height as Lundqvist, Shestyorkin, Georgiev, Varlamov, Grubauer

So, Urban was def worth a pick this year, but he will get picked next year when he shows what he can do in North America
