Admittedly, at the mercy of those with a deeper knowledge of the goaltending position; and have a great deal of respect for those who can make long-term forecasts based on one outstanding season.

Bischel was basically a backup his first two seasons and then appeared in 16 games as a junior; sharing time with a senior transfer.

In 37 games this season he had all 16 of Notre Dame's wins, at times standing on his head against some of the best teams in college hockey.

Technically, he can play another season of college hockey but I was wondering if there as a club in need of goaltending that offers him either an ELC or AHL contract?

Jackets could use a goalie, he'd definitely get an opportunity to say the least whether it was Cleveland or playing good enough to earn some NHL time.

If you are a goalie, you should be looking at which AHL affiliates have done a good job of developing goalies to the NHL. You're going to be 2 years away from making the NHL realistically. Which organizations are best suited to help you get there.

It’s the hardest position to gauge with the least amount of openings. Usually the college UFAs who are signed, even to AHL contracts, have the desired size of today’s NHL goaltender.

Most of what they consider undersized goalies, end up in the ECHL at best, and work their way up the food chain.

He’s on the borderline of size, so I guess there’s a possibility he lands a deal but it’s likely still only an AHL contract. If he was 6’4”, they’d be all over him…. You never know though, but like I said, very few openings, so teams are very hesitant to give out one of their contracts.

Signed to AHL deal with Providence. Bruins are fairly deep with Swayman (assuming he signs), Korpisalo and Bussi competing for the NHL jobs and then Michael DiPietro in Providence.
