Jesper Wallstedt is just 14 years old, but last year he played 14 games for Vasteras' U18 team. He had a pretty good international U16 tournament (although he only played 2 games). He is tall (190cm) and big.

This year he could continue goalkeeping for the U18, with the possibility of debuting for the U20 squad. Interesting goalkeeper to watch, could possibly be drafted in the 2021 Entry Draft. Eventhough he still has 4 years to develop, he could make big steps.

He's been playing for VIK J20 during the preseason, so it looks like he could be playing there. Was voted best goalie and playoff MVP in J18 in his U15(!) season.

Those awards was on a hockey website and not official awards. That specific website tend to exaggerate quite a lot.

Wallstedt is really good, has a well developed technique and reads the game quite well. Lacks in speed and physic which can be fixed easily. Does he have the grit?

28 saves on 29 shots in a 6-1 win against Leksand yesterday. Didn't watch the game but both teams had 29 shots a piece so seems like Wallstedt's goaltending could've been the difference, or part of it anyway. 92.5 SVS% through three games in J20 SuperElit so far, as a 14 year old(!)

Jesper Wallstedt made his debut this weekend in J20 Superelit against Skellefteå. Is he the youngest goalie through his ages of 14 years 10 months and 1 day to start in a Superelit game ever, or just one of the youngest?

According to an article I just read, he's the youngest player of all time in J20 SuperElit. Beat Hedman by 4 days.

It won't be long until he's with the mens team no? I mean they're in tier 3 so.

Will he be the youngest player to ever play in division 1 if he does?

Scored a goal and had an assist today against Brynäs J20....

Yeah he's a 14 year old goalie:popcorn:

Is is rare for a 14 year old to be playing with older kids in Sweden? Its very common in the US for a 14 year to play high school were kids are 4 years older and even prep school where a 14 year old is playing against 20 year olds.

No it's not weird seeing kids play with 1-2 years older than themselves, 3-4 is very impressive. But even 6 years older than themselves is just insane. Especially when the league is a league like Superelit where's the best U-20 players in Sweden not playing in the SHL/Allsvenskan divided into 20 teams.
