Generating interest from NHL teams per Friedman. Only his first NCAA year (but he's older for an NCAA first year). Friedman said he might come out right away. Has a .933 SV% for UConn this year in 15 games. 6'3. Played BCHL last season.

He'll probably play for our AHL team next season. Tandem with Garand, who is the #3 goaltender at this point, and might even overtake Quick for #2 at some point next season (if Quick falls off, as he's 39).

He likely needs a few seasons in the AHL. There's likely not that much opportunity to play in the NHL soon, but he obviously needs development time outside the NHL. We've generally been a great organization at developing goaltenders, so probably a smart call by him. And we don't really have any goaltenders prospects outside of Garand, so there's not too much competition for Tung.

He plays way too low for my liking. Not saying he'll bust because of it, but I want to see more from him because the NHL is not too kind to any goaler who plays that low and gets destroyed up high.

I also dislike that he left UConn so soon; he needs way more seasoning. Too raw.

Played 15 games for UConn. I could understand him leaving after playing 30 like the other top rated goalies like Fowler, Augustine (who is remaining at Mich St.), etc. If he thinks the coaching is better from either the AHL or ECHL team of the Rangers, then good for him for getting a contract.

He's from BC, so he would have started school in the year he turned 5 despite his Nov birthday (we go calendar year vs a Sept 1 cutoff), so he technically would have been finished his SR year had he gone to college right away.
