Deserves a thread at this point. Clang and Wallstedt are not far apart imo, Clang is perhaps the more talented goalie but doesn't have the early hype. Played two games at the Hlinka and was excellent in both. Was also a member of the U18 gold winning team this spring as an underaged goalie.

Is there a decent chance of him getting some time in the SHL this year?

No U18 Goalie has ever been an SHL regular so probably not. He could get a few games if lucky, but probably will not. Rögle do not have great goalies so there is a small chance if he continues his stellar play.

I don't know about that.

Wallstedt is probably a bit better right now but I don't think Clang is very far off.

Clang is possibly more consistent I would say, he never has a bad game unlike Wallstedt. Wallstedt has the ability to completely steal a game with a shoutout or amazing performance though, and when he is on his game, he is unplayable.

Swedish goaltender Calle Clang has been playing in the Rogle BK system. Playing for the Under-20 team in the SuperElit, he put up a 2.64 goals-against-average and .913 save percentage. He also played three games in the J18 Elit with a 2.75 goals-against-average and .897 save percentage. Clang played two games for Sweden at the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup, putting up a 1.50 goals-against-average and .953 save percentage, helping the team to a bronze medal. Overall, Clang played four games for the National Under-18 Team with a 2.00 goals-against-average and .939 save percentage. Clang has progressed past junior-level hockey and has been loaned to Kristianstads IK in the Allsvenskan for the 2020-21 season.

Last season, he put up a 2.83 goals-against-average and .907 save percentage in 24 games in the SuperElit. He struggled in the playoffs though with a 4.58 goals-against-average and .866 save percentage. Clang played three games in the J18 with a 3.05 goals-against-average and .907 save percentage. In three playoff games, he had a 2.67 goals-against-average and .884 save percentage. Clang was the backup goalie, playing one game as Sweden won a bronze medal at the Under-17 World Hockey Challenge. He was also on the roster at the IIHF Under-18 World Championships as Sweden won the tournament.

Much higher end prospect than he's getting credit for. No major issues in his game and has that ability to stand on his head to win games.

He looks decent, has the 5th best S% in the SHL this year (ahead of him is his partner in Rogle, so it probably has much to do with the team, but still...)
Excited to have him, looks like it's at least one more year in the SHL, which goes well with our timeline (Gibby sounds to be out in short or mid-term, Dostal will need some time, and then we can give Clang and Alexander (our other prospect) a fight for #1 Gulls goalie.

My guess, 2 more years in the SHL, then AHL
