Love Zadorov but no. We'd need retention to make it work which I doubt Boston even considers.

I mean I'd consider Desharnais for Zadorov straight up if Boston was desperate to cut their losses - which I doubt they'd do - but we couldn't even make that work cap-wise anyways.

And I wouldn't do DeBrusk I don't think, he's a better player.

Spot on. He’s a good #5 who can step up and play to a second pairing level at times. He’s one of those guys where you have to separate the player from the contract. He’s never going to be remotely worth his contract, but he can still help you win. And it’s a bit easier to stomach when you’ve got some massive steals like Marchand and Lindholm (Hampus)

The argument will always be if how he plays in the playoffs when he is able to get away with more makes over paying him in the regular season worth it.

I was very glad when the Flames traded him. He was never going to live up to a contract that paid him like an actual top 4 dman. I cannot remember who it was but there was a Flames fan who said he was a top pairing dman haha

I'd give a two 2nd's to have Zadorov back with retention.

He fits our system. Him and Soucy are both #5's. Both Soucy and Zadorov are guys who can be a top 4 oj any given night... just not every night. With Hughes on the left side taking bulk of the minutes, you need guys who know their role. Both Soucy and Zadorov miss each other IMO, because we could alternate pairings when one wasn't working.

their coach just got canned. dont think the fans are happy with how things are going, esp with Z and Lindholm.
And in Sacco's first game, E-Lind scores the game's only goal and Zads played physical. We haven't been happy with them, true, but I'm not giving up on them finding their game after 6 weeks in a spoked B. E-Lind and DeBrusk have put up similar numbers to one another and Zads sounds like he knows we need to play more physical so 🤷‍♂️ not giving up on them yet.

I’d be willing to send a pick for retention on Zadorov, obviously the more Boston retains, the higher the pick. Can send Forbort back to plug the hole, if needed, although he’s injured at the moment.
I don’t think Boston’s management is going to throw in the towel this early, though, they should be better than they currently are.

Lol no one gonna trade for a $5 million 3rd pairing dman when 90% of the league has next to no cap space

I wouldn't wanna trade Zadarov. He's finding his game and he's a physical presence the Bruins were missing. Benn had a dirty hit on Carlo and Zaddy jumped right in. Last couple seasons we really had nobody to stick up for anyone even having Pasta have to fight for teammates. I think Lindholm and Zadarov will both be just fine, the Bruins all together as a group haven't been great, not on the either of them for sure. I like Lindholms game as well, hes solid defensively and makes smart plays. Every forward on the B's production is down, once they come around which I think they will that production will pick up.

I do kinda wish that the Canucks re-signed Zadorov, but I would've done it instead of Myers, not in addition to.

So if you remove Myers 3M for 3 years and add Zadorov at 5M for 6 years, I think he fits.

But I don't think the Canucks should take him back now that they've overpaid Myers and given him more term than he deserves.

5M is an overpayment for Zadorov but when stacked against 3M for Myers, Zadorov looks like the better deal.

How bout Lindholm back to Vancouver? Or are Nucks fans willing to admit he's overrated trash now that he's in Boston.
What? Nobody underrated this guy. There was like a 1-2% of the fanbase who wantsd to re sign him for the money he was asking. The rest didn’t and found him underwhelming for 90% of his time save for 12 playoff games.

Zadorov is what he is, I think his value is hopefully at playoff time, that I believe is the main reason for getting him. Lindholm, signing is a bad signing, and will prove to be an anchor on this team going forward, 30 year old signed for 7 years, who was playing third line, ridiculous. That is a mistake by management, and the Yahoo fans, who were screaming for him.

Zadorov and/or Carlo would make our D corps so much better.

Too bad there is no cap available at present from Vancouver's side. Soucy and Desharnais would be going for either/both for cap reasons as it is, but would then create other holes to fill, even if Zad would replace Soucy, or Carlo bosltering the right side.

I'm going to go ahead and blame Benning for sewering this, via that OEL acquisition.
