Hronek signed at age 25 or 26. MPetey is nearing age 29 so 3-4yrs age difference.Hronek is 27 and Pettersson is 28. Where are you getting 3-4 years older from. You could sign him to your proposed deal if it was 2020 maybe.
Oh you were referring to age at extension. He signed this past offseason, he was 26, nearing 27. If Pettersson signs now he's 28. So 2 years, not 3-4.Hronek signed at age 25 or 26. MPetey is nearing age 29 so 3-4yrs age difference.
Hronek signed around 18months ago roughly?
So Bedard and Celebrini? OK……at this point they should lock up anyone who wants to be there.
Better to lock up guys now opposed to signing UFA'S two summers from now when the cap will be a 108 million. It's weird because you know these upcoming deals are gonna look terrible, and with the massive cap hikes coming they still wont matter.
I wouldn’t want to go over 5m or slightly over, maybe a 4-5yr deal.
Canucks have lhd prospects like D Petey, KK, Mynio that could be regular NHLers over the next 1-3 yrs also. Plus Marcus P is turning 29, 3-4yrs older than Hronek who got bit over 7m long term.
Maybe they tried deferred $ or trade protection or go 6 yrs to get aav slightly under 5m per?
I have to disagree a bit. The nucks even without JT are still a very good team, this season has been full of everything going wrong and as of today we control our playoff fate and while Chytil hasn't had the success that JT has had keep in mind that JT arrived in Vancouver as a 45-55 point player who exploded once given a bigger role.Kind of feel with what happened with the Canucks being handcuffed in the Miller trade and then trading the NY first away for a UFA rental that $5.75 million for 6 years would be the kind of gift they've earned.
I actually feel bad for Vancouver right now because every hockey analyst is looking at their calendars for when Hughes becomes a UFA and trying to decie how much NJ will get him for at this rate.
Unless of course Vancouver retains him somehow through a potential short term retool
