It’s in quotations next to the word undiagnosed.
I’m delusional? I wonder how his current head coach feels, I mean he was pretty outward in his confusion with Freddie’s inability to be good to go when cleared by team docs.
First and foremost a player is responsible for their own health, if they are injured to a point where they feel they can't or shouldn't play, they shouldn't.
A couple seasons ago people were capping on Hyman because he was playing with a bad knee.
Second do you have a link to where the Canes doctors said he was cleared to play.
Third team doctors will look out for the team first, eichel comes to mind, over what's best for the player.
And fourth what professional player of any sport would not want to be playing at the highest level when in a position giving them a very good chance to win a cup?
So please provide me with a reputable link where ever you there the Canes doctor said he was cleared (and again that doesn't mean he wasn't injured) or a quote from Andersen saying he just didn't want to play

For Campbell's sake I hope he moves on to a team with an actual NHL goalie coach and a fanbase that isn't bipolar. He can be a good 1B somewhere and I'm sure he'll get a contract for around $4m.

For the Leafs' sake they need a more reliable #1. But I wouldn't be shocked if Toronto goes into the season with Mrazek as the #1 due to Dubas' ineptitude
I'm guessing if they don't up their offer to campbell and he ends up walking, the leafs don't have a choice but to go with mrazek when they are paying him 3.8. I'm sure his salary was part of the reason Campbell turned down 2.75. Mrazek was injured, but Campbell's numbers were just better.

I'm guessing dubas tried to come in low so he has room to try and find depth players and defense as well, but they don't exactly have the cap working in their favour to fix everything.

Isn't finding a starter gonna take a little bit of time cause now they need a goalie coach and looking at at the goalie department? There are options but who is gonna be the one to advise on what to do?

2.75 is such a f*** you it's pretty hard to comprehend.

If he was possibly going to take a discount before I'm sure that opening offer really soured the relationship.

At least offer what your back up is making

That was probably last summer when mrazek had better stats. And about 300 games of experience. They apparently haven’t made an offer since last summer

It’s been more than a month since the Maple Leafs played their last game and Jack Campbell, the goalie who started that night, still remains without a contract for next season.

And from the sounds of it, talks between the Leafs and Campbell have been progressing slowly.

“We’ve had a couple of conversations,” Kurt Overhardt, Campbell’s agent, told The Athletic this week. “I think it’s been reported that we haven’t exchanged numbers or anything like that. But we continue to have a good dialogue.”

Overhardt said he’s spoken with the Leafs about once a week since the Leafs season came to an end on May 14 in that narrow Game 7 loss to the Lightning.

As he noted, unrestricted free agency — kicking off on July 13 — was still a month away.

“There’s still so much time,” Overhardt said, noting that teams, including the Leafs, were likely in the midst of, or had recently completed, their pro scouting meetings. “With Jack, obviously he’s really interested in coming back and would be committed to do that. We continue to talk to the club, and we’ve got an open dialogue."

“Nothing to report other than that.”

What are we to read into that, if anything? Is it odd that we’re one month into the offseason and the Leafs haven’t talked numbers in any detail yet with Campbell’s camp? Or that talks, more generally, have been minimal?

Does it simply mean the Leafs have decided already to move on from Campbell?

It’s certainly possible.

...................

One phone call, mind you, and the talks could heat up. It’s why Campbell’s camp isn’t inclined to set a drop-dead date before they decide to head to market.

“No, I don’t think so,” Overhardt said. “I don’t think that’s appropriate. The one luxury that I think everyone has right now, as you know, is time. And it’s important just to communicate.”

I mean we know there were conversations during the season, or at least the end of the season maybe he is talking about those because according to Johnston there have been ZERO talks as of yesterday and he is a proven quality source.

He's a good source but that also doesn't mean he's 100% right every time. Sometimes guys get things wrong/misinterpret what they've been told ect.

Not that I'm taking sides one way or the other on this

His agent could be just saying that for competition purposes

If Leafs re-sign Campbell at around $4 mil and qualify their RFA's Engvall, Kase, Liljegren and Sandin for another $4-5 mil combined that would use up all their free cap space .

Run it back 2022-23.

Or trade a $3.5 million player and find a nice home for a $5.625 million/year player and go at it.

I read what his agent said again, he said they haven't even talked numbers.

We have about 27 days between now and free agency if they haven't talked numbers by now he's probably gone.

And that would be a good thing
