Worst save percentage in the league since December was him showing he could be a starting goalie?
All-Star caliber before that. I'm not saying he is the top goalie in the league but he is definitely a starter in this league and someone is going to pay him 4-5 million for his services.

A little less than 13 million.
I think you need to check your math…

Go ahead and let someone then. If it’s going to be 4-5 I’d rather get husso or binnington, ask Winnipeg about hellebyuck, or Anaheim about Gibson, maybe check on the island with varky, even see what happens with kuemper, but definitely not investing 5x5 on jack

His stats weren't good. He had a great 3 months and then tanked for the rest of the season. He's lucky he only played 49 games cause his stats were heading into AHL territory if he kept playing.

Went into the playoffs and followed it off by being the worst starter in the playoffs... not even with difficult chances, most of them were routine shots he sucked at. For example, Vasi had a low save percentage also (as low as Campbell, but better GAA) - but Vasi actually made tough saves. He was on his back making saves, catching pucks while falling down, cross crease, etc. Meanwhile Campbell can't stop a 360 shorthanded softball because the forward spun and he decided to open his legs.

5 on 3 goal Campbell is standing, wth are you doing? Campbell cost us this series as much as anyone else.

2.75M is a generous offer. Someone else can deal with his mental health if he wants more than that.

You mean Hedman, McDonaugh, Sergachev and Cernak aren't as good as Edler, Durzi, Roy and Maatta?

Sad thing is we can’t bang on that drum too hard cause this team couldn’t solve Korpisalo and Merzlikins and got shut down again by Montreal. The two 2020 and 2021 face plants really haunt the 2022 season in a lot of ways.

Many here are putting the blame for not advancing solely on Campbell and that is not a fair evaluation. Campbell played good enough and wasn't the reason the Leafs lost this series. What lost this series was the team in front of Campbell not being able to shut Tampa down. They were up in game six had all the momentum and then took two very stupid penalties in a row and lost that game. In game 7 the Leafs offense was trying to be way too pretty in th offensive zone. They constantly passed the puck around when they should have been shooting it on net try make that pretty goal and gusee what happened, they passed themselves out of scoring plays. That is the reason they lost. In Game six, didn't you hear what the commentator siad Cooper told his players. Cooper told his his players you have a two man advantage, stop passing up shooting the puck on net and shoot the puck on net every chance you get. You don't score if you don't hit the net with the puck.

You're right, Campbell gave them a chance to win but the team has only scored 2 goals in the final post season games against CB, Montreal and Tampa, it's literally perfection that would be required to have won in those circumstances.
But in the end he's still realistically a lower end NHL starter, it's possible to win with him if you have a superior team like Chris Osgood with the Red Wings were at their height. He's unfortunately no longer a good match with the money he'll be seeking; He deserves more than the Leafs can afford to pay him, and at this stage of his career he probably should just go to whoever pays him the most.

I’ve told you fools on here long enough that Dubass is the worst GM in the league AINEC. Look at what he inherited and made it mediocre as always.

Anyway, as for the goalie, I might be interested in MacKenzie Blackwood. He’s signed for $2.8M, still is an RFA and has shown that he can play at a borderline elite level. The cost might not be too expensive either given how little he played this year. Definitely a goalie I’d be interested in and wouldn’t be surprised if we got him.

Firstly though, I’d #FireDubass, #FireShkeefe and #FireShanaSCAM. Enough is enough. End this madness.

There appears to be some bad blood between the devils and Blackwood too. He had a heel injury last year that he ended up injuring again this year and he thinks management forced him to come back to soon.

It's likely they're looking to move him in the off season regardless. Probably the best option if they're bringing mrazek back. But again you'd be going into the year with a lot of uncertainty, kind of like this year.

go to cap friendly and add up all their 2022-23 salaries.

The unfortunate truth is 25% of the teams in the NHL win a round each year. 8 of 32.

Add in the fact that Bettman's broken playoff system currently has Toronto in the toughest division, and all things being equal the league average is win one playoff round every 4 years.

Other fact is this team was improved by some strong moves by Dubas without mortgaging the future like the 2 Florida teams did and you have a very good GM even if you fail to recognize it. TB and Florida gave up 5-1sts+ at this years deadline.

Sounds like can be our Kahwai.

Jack is what 31 with a history of injury problems. Can't bank on a guy like that, while also trying to rid yourself of Mrazek and finding another goalie
Someone else can give him 4-5 mill

Chris Osgood wasn't that spectacular on most Red Wing runs.
Mmm...Yeah, he was in so far as he was always dependable and showed flashes of brilliance when needed.

Edited to say: Osgood's 400 wins were quiet, but they're there.
